YL - look after yourself. If you need a shoulder, I’m here x
Day off today:
school drop off done, pick up shortly, then doctor’s appointment.
car filled with petrol - first time in weeks, I think.
DD’s car taken for a drive to tick it over. Not sure if she will ever get to drive it, which makes me very sad.
Bathrooms cleaned
Rooms - apart from kitchen and DR - dusted and vacuumed. Not a brilliant job, but it’s off my list.
Dead flowers and mouldy onions thrown into the compost bin. Random, I know.
Bedding x 2 changed, wm x 1 run.
Curry in the sc for dinner.
Looks better now that I have listed that - it didn’t feel very productive until then.10 -
All applicable jobs on today's list are done and I've just made a start on yesterday's. Obviously only done to my slovenly standard.Spend less now, work less later.10

Fayolle it sounds like a very productive day! 😊
Vet has phoned - quote is £1900ish to remove 3 lumps. It can be reduced by about £500 if they don't do the x-rays and ultrasound as they aren't absolutely necessary. To remove only one lump (the oozy one) would only knock off about £128, so I think it is 3 or nothing. We will need a family discussion tonight.
HB I have had similar discussions with grumpy dog over how many tennis balls he needs! Apparently its all of them!! 🤣🥎 I hope you got everything done that you hoped to before your OH returned. I much prefer getting stuck into these things when I am home alone, but that doesn't happen often!

Afternoon ladies,
Work done, will be collecting the children shortly. WM went on this morning and it has all dries well on the line despite the cold. One huge binbag of junk flung before work this morning, and 3 tins of food given to a friend. I am aiming to get another at least supermarket size carrier out of here before the weekend. I have eaten far too many biscuits today, must sort that out. Or maybe not, I'm not sure I really care enough about calories to be bothered.I will be lighting the fire tonight and possibly having a small beer or two.ETA the hens are all just amazing. I have eggs coming out of my ears, wish you were all nearer so I could share xx9 -
HB.. I totally get the principle of the container concept.. but I KNOW I have too much stuff.. but letting it go when it has life left is impossible.. I can not just bin good stuff when so many are in need. I have a pile of stuff to put on the local freebie groups BUT (there is always one of those!) I don't want people coming to my house.. The charity shops are inundated with people having cleared out for a year they are overwhelmed now too.. I don't have 'too many' of anything other than house occupants! My cat has 25 foil balls, we keep them in a box.. he gets them out one at a time and takes them to the kitchen, then I pick them up and bring them back lol.. thats like the tennis balls!. The 'one in one out' .. I've been doing that for yonks.. unless we need more.. If I get a delivery of something I fill the packaging and get rid of that, usually to the bin because I fill it with rubbish. I have 2 sets of bedding for each bed, we all have different colour schemes. I have recently got rid of 2 binbags of bedding and it all fits where it is supposed to fit now. I have a few more duvet sets I can get rid off. I need some new sheets (2 dark grey and 2 black) so I can bin the ones with holes. I just replaced the old grey ones with navy for DS2's room.. if I EVER get it decorated.
The main issues in here are 'between size' clothes for the girls, toys (I'm sure I've mentioned I hate toys!), and just a little bit of wool.. (I have so much it is insane.. I haven't bought any for about 5 years unless for a specific project) and I am DROWNING! I have it on my ebeast list but I have 4 boxes still to sort and list.. I cannot afford to just release it. I have 4 binbags of clothes to go. DS1 needs to go through 1 and then it can all go to the 'Swap shop' at the local church. I have a box of outgrown uniform to sort and some of that can go too. Twinkle appears to have grown and the pinafores she has been wearing for 2 years are now too short. Shoes... I have SO MANY SHOES... I sent over 100 pairs to the refugee charity and I still have boxes full.
I do however have, 2 chairs, a sofa, a small table, a tv stand, an old TFT portable tv, a table, some underlay, a washing machine, a broken bed and several gross pillows which can go to the tip.. I have a new front door in my back room, it's been there 3 years. and I have a new back door, in my back room, been there almost a year. 3 tesco crates of books to go too. I also have all of DD2s stuff while she is at uni in Wales, so the stuff that was in that cupboard (mainly yarn and fabric) is now in the middle room.. but it is all in stacking boxes rather than binbags. Oh, I have 2 pushchairs to sell too and one to donate.
The single thing which would make the biggest difference in here is if I could drive.. I would fill up the car and do a charity tour dropping stuff off a couple of times a week! I wanted to drive from being about 5 and I am still angry with myself that I allowed CF to stop me from learning 25 years ago.. he had 4 years of lessons and failed 3 times and wasted all that money refusing to take his test again.. I allowed it to happen I know. I NEED to make more of an effort, I need to be more motivated and more focused.. and be less lazy haha
I have hurt my hip massively opening the window in the girls room to let next doors stink out.. I took the medication and now I am useless. I need to do dinner but really I just want to cry.
OH has done the DW and cleaned out Sarahs house. I need him to fully clean 3 of the cat trays and we need another box of cat food out of the shed.
There is sausage casserole left from yesterday OH can eat and the girls can have fish/sausages and pasta and I hurt too much to want to eat but I will force down some salad and sea bass. The bigger ones can have sausages too I think. Tomorrow OH gets paid I am stocking up on meat again, chicken, bacon, pork steaks, gammon.. I buy it wholesale and it lasts a while. I need to get mince out for lasagne if I can stand tomorrow.
I need to wash DS1's duvet and do food and tomorrows pack ups.. cuppa first..
ASB.. We would totally have some eggs.. We never have any! OH will have 6 in one go, Moomin will have 2 or 3, I llove omelettes.. Dot loves scrabbled egg and Squeak liked hard boiled eggs in her pack up.. we use a LOT !

ASB surplus eggs freeze! I used silicone muffin cups, whipped up the eggs and froze them in pairs for scrambled eggs and quiches when I had a surplus, although it seems a sin to do that to a fresh egg, doesn't it.Piggers, I know you have a serious number of people in your household which means there's a lot of stuff. Your house is the container, and everything fits in it, although it sounds as though there are times when it's all a bit much for you. I totally get that you can't let go of anything that is potentially useful and I'm not suggesting you should. I'm spoiled for choice on how I deal with things although in my case I was frozen by indecision on the best way to resolve the clutter issues here. I'm not suggesting anyone should do anything a particular way, I'm highlighting strategies that have worked for me over the past three months which might be useful for others to consider if they're stuck in indecision. Our local hospice is not turning anything away, and I'm intending to continue donating as often as I can get a load together for them. Whenever I do the one I go to because I can park right outside it is heaving with people, who are obviously there looking for Lockdown Clearout Donations, so the stuff's shifting faster than it usually does. Good. A few more patients who need care will be able to be offered it by the hospice.I've just realised I started on the photographs on 1 February, and they'd been a mess on top of the dresser in my office for three years - because I couldn't work out how to deal with them. It's amazing how quickly things fall into place when a person finds exactly the right strategy for themselves. My solutiona won't work for everyone, but some people may find some ideas useful.I handwash things that need it once a year at most because it's so flipping tedious. Between yesterday and today I did 34 items, six of which were gloves and six were dusters. The rest were heavy things that needed to be washed carefully but They Are All Done, now drying and airing. I'm knackered but satisfied I've moved things on a lot today and that the listie is a bit shorter.Better is good enough.8

Totally off topic, I'm a big Mark Knopfler fan but couldn't listen to any music for a few years and now can again - hurrah! - and by a circuitous route I came across something that might cheer someone up who needs a bit of something. This particular track blew me away at 3.00am while I was in the WAC dayroom (through earphones so as not to disturb anyone) because of an appallingly behaved cat. It's eight and a half minutes of total fabulousness that builds and builds and builds - ignore the lyrics unless you're a petrolhead which I'm not. But, just wowsers!

ASB eggs aside I wish you all lived nearer full stop, but then would it be the same if we knew each other in real life? I was never brave enough to do a FL meet up.
Thanks Fayolle, that means a lot especially as you really do have things to worry about and I could be fretting about nothing. DS sees the consultant next week. I keep telling myself we have to wait for test results before we start jumping to conclusions. At least he isnt having night sweats which is one of the main signs.
Pigpen you have reminded me that I need to sort our shoe cupboard. There are shoes in there that belong to one of the boys but I dont know which one. I am sure that most of them havent seen the light of day for over a year. Maybe I should just take them to the charity shop.
Early start at the paid stuff, Mr T shop delivered, curries made (chicken and veggie versions), washing over airer and another load in. I bought a dress for work reduced from £100 to £30 and I love it but get nervous about washing it so I have cobbled together some things to go on a delicates wash. Kitchen and bathroom swished.10 -
There will be no flying from me other that dailies.
DW x 1
Made SW bolognese (and eaten it) - and have bbq chicken marinading. Hoping for some oomph then I can prep my lunch. But it's been a long day...and tomorrow everyone finds out about imminent changes at work...most of which involve me lolDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear9 -
After work I hoovered my bedroom, the landing and stairs (and emptied it several times!), dusted the TV, telly box & console, and dusted the shelf/headboard and all of the stuff on it. I threw away the castor that had apparently come off the bed & DH thought could live on said shelf 🤦♀️ (why are these things not just chucked straight away? 🤷♀️) I then cleaned the spindles & handrail on the stairs, and cleaned the woodwork & wall of mud/blood splatters as well. Dinner was cooked. I WULTD & wiped down the work surfaces & hob before going to bed (and polished my halo! 🤣) If I could form this as a habit I will be laughing!
Tomorrow I need to phone the vets and get grumpy dog booked in. We will not have x-rays, and DS has offered to pay towards it. He waited until DD2 had left the room before he offered, so that he didnt put pressure on her to pay (she is in the process of buying her 1st flat so is saving hard!) He is such a good boy 😊
Night night all!9
