Not a very happy person. Been to the opticians. Apparently I now need glasses to drive/all the time but I honestly don't feel I do. I shall go with it, though. And I'm developing cataracts. On the positive side I have had my second covid jab. And got my washing line dried.
GI If my Grandma was given a gift she didn't like it was returned to the giver! I bought her a shopping bag once (think I was about 17) from M&S - and I got it back because, when she was on the bus with the bag on her knee she couldn't see over it (apparently) - but it couldn't go back because it was used. Bit of a kick in the teeth, that!
And I was taught bedmaking by a nurse who'd trained in the 1950s (my mum). I'm now intrigued as to how DKW folds...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear9 -
ooh you'd be horrified by my sheet folding.. but I get palpitations over other people folding my towels. If I folded them 'wrong' my mother would throw the whole lot at me and I had to do them again until they were right. Sheets just have to be flat and fit on the shelf.

Valli, DWK thinks and says she's folding, but what she actually does is gather the thing up and roll it in her arms. 'There,' she says, 'Folded. I know, y'all, the folding, I know.' As a self-confessed slob I love the fact that she doesn't really care what other people think outside her household. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only Flylady here who identifies far more with her than some of the rather prissy perfectly groomed, tidy, scary minimalists, but I could be wrong about that.
Better is good enough.9 -
A nice day. Went to the seaside, walked 6 miles right along the seafront and back and rewarded ourselves with fish and chips, rather too many people around for my liking but it was nice to be out and lovely to be with DS2. Managed to spend £35 on fish and chips, ice creams, drinks and parking, you forget how much a day out costs!
DS1 has called, I am taking him and his brother to the pub apparently then they are getting a lift back here and DS1 is staying overnight.
I am very sleepy, have already snoozed in the car on the way back. Going to be a challenge to stay awake now.
I am not a minimalist but I am no longer a hoarder either, too much stuff makes me anxious and I am ruthless about getting rid of things we dont need. Right my taxi services are needed.10 -
Valli that made me laugh! In our case, maybe that is the giver's intention or she hopes 😂😂
I can identify with DKW - much more so than Marie Kondo! She is just weird! 😂 I too am a bit of a hoarder - it is in my genes! I am trying to improve. I am getting better....
I managed to clear one bed. I am hoping to plant sweetcorn & squash in that bed. They have been sown. They just need to grow now....
I somehow managed to pull something in my leg 🙁 The muscle along my inner thigh - very painful! Especially when I sit. I had a soak in the bath (not long - I don't do soaking in the bath!). It was so painful getting in & out! I have just had dinner, so I will take some ibuprofen and hope it goes away! I am sitting with my legs up, which is comfortable.
Washing is all off the line (thanks DH!) but the bed hasn't been made. I think I am going to look pained until he makes it! 😂
See you all on the new thread!10 -
GI.. did you get your bed made up?
I forgot it was Sunday and almost forgot to go pick Moomin up.. she usually texts to remind me but she didn't so my head ocntinued thinking it was Saturdya.. oops!!
Packups were done with dinner and everyone was clean so just uniforms and the dreaded shoes to find now.. and Squeaks PE kit
