Good morning.
Sorry to hear about DS2's move being cancelled, dancemum xx. How on earth can he be expected to settle down and make progress if somewhere can simply refuse to give him a chance?
Thanks for suggesting the group hug, round x My back is improving slowly, but I decided against driving to church this morning, and it's too far to walk.
I have done a 5-minute pick-up downstairs and another upstairs. Everywhere bar the study is now tidy - the trouble being that the less there is to lying around, the more obvious the dust becomes! But I'm not risking hoovering yet.
My main job today will be to file the mixed paperwork on my desk and back up all the files on my PC I also need to sort out the best place to put my new printer, which is wide rather than deep, IYSWIM. It would fit nicely on top of the 2-drawer filing cabinet, but then I would need to move the PC case onto the little table under the desk (which is the current printer's home) and find a new location for the magazine files with the "ongoing paperwork" - so not sure if that's really going to help. I suppose that I really have too much on my desk but there are certain things that I like to keep at hand.
Onwards and upwards - hope everyone has a pleasant day xx

Do you remember that I said I now have enough floor to hoover in my bedroom? I did!!! I'm not saying that I haven't hoovered for a while but I had to work out how to use it 😳 Great great grandad dust bunnies are no longer. I have emptied the hoover and washed the filter, so it should suck better next time.
My neighbours probably think someone new has moved in 🤣

RxxI am rotfl at your last comment
I have
- cleared my desk and thought about various options for the printer and PC case
- filed all loose papers (but not ancestral records because they are still in a pile on the floor)
- carried the (probably) defunct cartridges from the old b/w printer downstairs and put them on the Donate pile in the utility
- let Rosie out into the garden to sunbathe
- made coffee and
- chopped up veg for soup for lunch.
Rosie came back into the house as soon as the sun went behind a cloud - sensible dog!9 -
I have wiped out the fridge, made some crumble, walked the dogs again and started work on a new sewing project. I want to make one of those makeup bags that opens flat so you can see everything in it.Spend less now, work less later.10

Dancemum, I'm really sorry to hear your DS's planned future has been thrown into disarray. It must be incredibly unsettling for him which is the last thing he needs, and really disappointing for you. (((Hugs)))Round you're doing amazing things! Go girl! For anyone struggling to find her, she's on the Tube of You as Dana K White, and her website is A Slob Comes Clean. I haven't bought her books because I'd rather not clutter the place up with another version, and with UTub3 being so helpful there's little need to do so. There are some things she advocates that don't work for me such as having a donateable donate box because we don't buy anything from am@z0n, I can fold bedding waaaaaaaay better than her (because we had to strip our beds down to the mattresses every morning at boarding school and fold and stack it all on the chair next to our beds) and she does tend to repeat herself a bit but she's been an absolute godsend for me. I take the suggestions that work and ignore the rest, and the house is now being transformed.I can't put all the handwashing away because the three drawers I have for clothes are full and that means decluttering my excess clothes is now the most urgent area for me. I've been meaning to do them for a couple of week but the stack on top of the chest of drawers has moved it right up the agenda, along with the ironing. I'm too tired to do it today so it will happen tomorrow.I realised yesterday that simply getting everything out, even from just one drawer, isn't going to help this time; I've done that repeatedly for nine years. This time I'm going to declutter my clothes in a completely new way for me.I very, very rarely go to anything where I need formal clothes, as in once every three years - so why do I have several posh outfits that I therefore never wear? Being older we don't allow ourselves to be cold in the winter any more, so how much thermal underwear and how many thick jumpers will I ever need again? Why have I got quite a few tops suitable only for really formal posh evenings, when we very, very rarely go to anything that requires Belovéd to wear a tie, so when would I ever need to posh up to that extent? Do I need all four swim suits when I rarely swim any more? Do I need that many pairs of black trousers when actually I wear blue/white almost all of the time?I'm going to relate what I actually do in my life with my time to the clothes I actually want to wear this time, rather than pick over my clothes I've often impulse bought because I like them. I've got very little that cost more than a few quid from Sainsbobs and Morribunds so there wouldn't be a problem replacing it so why am I hanging on to most of it? Would I actually wear those East (they had an end of the line sale!) dresses again, or is that a person I thought I could or should be, rather than who I am? And then, after all that, does any of it suit me?So, that's tomorrow sorted!Better is good enough.9

Gardening been done, loads of weeds removed.OH came out, we were sitting on chairs, just talking, when 3 deer came up to fence to look at us, for about 10 mins, they were about 10 feet if that away from us. Very magical.Washing is dry on the line, one of the cats blankets hung over a chair, and is airing, cat not happy!Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Bathroom cleaned
DS2 visited. I was not allowed to tell him the news yet due to weekend staffing etc He has only just come around to showing any acceptance of moving there and now he isn’t 😠
He was focused on his college work so I supported him with that when I asked if he wanted me to leave he chose to have a chat away from his laptop for an hour. Got stuck behind cyclists on country lanes most of the way back. Weather has been much brighter today.

so many things to do and so little energy.. I need a rocket strategically placing if anyone has a spare. I am in spoon deficit I think from madly decorating the middle room last weekend.. I think it has done me in.
Hazels wonky tooth finally came out.. did I mention that already? I forget. anyway, she seems happier.. she doesn't get 'happy', just less grumpy.
OH is being sent to Tesc0 for pack up stuff, Dot is in the bath to calm her down, she is being exceptionally herself today.4x WM done, 2 loads on the line, 1 in the dryerDW x1 but the oven trays need running through next and the cat dishes.
I am going to have a mad dash about while OH is at the shop.. he can't get underfoot if he isn't here.. he hasn't been to the gym this week and is in a total arris with work starting next weekend.. I just keep reminding him he has had a whole year to find something else and hasn't bothered so he can't complain about habing to go back to this job. It's not my fault he has done nothing productive.. that is all on him.
I have a bag to fill with parcels to post tomorrow. And I need to empty the nightmare corner, I don't think I can sleep with the rubbish monster looking at me! lol

Good afternoon
DM I am sorry people are mucking DS about with the move, but I am pleased you had a successful visit.
YL we get 12 bottles of decent wine every Christmas! I don't drink wine at all and DH barely drinks it now. I have told the gifter this many times! They make good presents for regifting!
HB Watching her fold blankets was painful! 😂 I too went to boarding school. We had to strip the bed daily, and hospital corners were checked!
I have stripped my bed, and it is blowing on the line (unless DH has brought it in, and remade the bed 🤞). 2 more loads of washing done. I am now at the allotment, and have just had a tea break. Lots of weeding to be done, so I had better crack on! I am determined to finish at least one bed! It is very warm!!
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone. Hugs, sticks and spoons to those that need them.8 -
Next 2 in the bath, next 2 WM loads running and TD on again.
I've not got to the DW yet or moving Trashman!
