Back home after work. Enjoying tea and biscuit.
Shopping done and parcel picked up on my way home
I know what's for dinner and OH will cook it (and enjoy it as long as he doesn't have to decide what we are having)
Forgot I was supposed to leave the gate open for the gas man today so need to ring and remake an appointment
Thursday's lessons are planned too
Off to rescue the garden furniture from the middle of the garden and will then update spreadsheets whilst enjoying my tea10 -
I made a chocolate fudge cake, walked the dogs again, did some puzzles and have now had my hair cut.Spend less now, work less later.11

Great savings, pigpen
Are you inviting us all round for tea and cake, Jazee?I have been picking at the remains of a rhubarb and ginger crumble today..
Today I have managed to
- cancel a £32 pa DD for a magazine that I ordered for DDiL1 two years ago (it should have been cancelled after one year, but I couldn't find the order number, and only came across it this week when I was sorting some bank papers)
- order a flash drive for all the church files
- send an email or three
- declutter and dust the LR (I had hoovered yesterday)
- take Rosie out without getting soaked
- play with the ancestors for an hour and find some possible documents to look at in the relevant county archives, once they are open
- finally get warm: I had to resort to turning the heating on againbut I'd felt like an out-of-sorts reptile all day, chilly and very stiff.

Hi ladies,Thank you again for the love, you're all so wonderful. Work done, dry laundry FUPA, everyone fed, LR tidied, fridge tidied out, heating on for a couple of hours as it's just so cold here, especially with the biting wind. I have a cleaner coming for an hour tomorrow to really bottom the bathroom, please don't kick me off the thread. The chickens egg money is paying for it and I know they won't disapprove of my choice. It'll be one less thing off my very very long sort-my-life-out list. Starting with a clean bathroom 🤩
I need to write a letter tomorrow and post after work. I've ordered a paying in book as I have a cheque to pay in and my camera on my phone is broken so I can't scan it in via the app. Will pay it in at the post office when said paying in book arrives.I have also binned a handful of junk out of the kitchen, and have my sights set on getting rid of another handful before work tomorrow.ETA huge well done on the savings Piggers. I've saved around £41 pcm so far this year through cancelling Sky and the TV licence. I also got rid of Prime, reduced my home insurance to buildings only (absolutely nowt worth nicking here!) and got rid of my pay monthly dental plan.10 -
Good evening
Lovely cake, Piggers. She is a clever girl, your DD. Thanks for the WAC biscuits - much appreciated, oops. I’ll replace them with some of the cinnamon coffee cake I made, so help yourselves.
I went to work for a couple of hours this morning after dropping DD at school. We both had matchsticks holding up our eyelids - not sure how much longer we can sustain a couple of hours sleep per night. Work meeting cancelled - grrrr - so I picked DD up at lunchtime to wfh for a few hours this afternoon instead.
One load of towels somehow got dry outside in between the rain, clean washing sorted, dinner cooked, kitchen tidied. I have just spent an hour sorting out the freezers which are jammed packed again. Yesterday’s Mr M delivery put away, including some bits rammed somehow into the freezers. Ought to make a meal plan, but think that I’ll try to catch up on the Sewing Bee instead.

Hi all
Just popping in on my way to bed. Stressful meeting, too much to do at the paid stuff and DS1 messaged saying he felt really ill so I have been fretting about him all day, its worse when he isnt living here. He sees his hematologist next week so I guess I am going to be worrying for a while yet. Wish I could stop thinking about it.
Chilli for tea, hoovered quickly right through, dusted our bedroom and changed our sheets, a load of sports stuff washed, and 15 minutes yoga for a little time to myself.
Oh and I have managed to buy £250 worth of second hand Denby pottery that matches what I already have for £40 from a lady around the corner from work. So happy about my lovely new teapot and milk jug! It is all in perfect condition and will last for years. Ran it through DW and just need to find a home for some of it now.
Bedtime, will catch up properly tomorrow.12 -
After work I vac'd the LR (again), then had a shower & hair wash. I cleaned the shower while I was there, and the sink & toilet. I then checked on my seedlings and emptied the food bin before dinner. DW was put on, but has not been emptied yet.
Had a phone call from the vet. There is nothing to suggest that any of the lumps (they did 6 fine needle aspirations) are malignant. The ones on his back & shoulder are most likely cysts, but may keep growing. She thinks the one on his shoulder would probably be too big to operate. She will phone again Thursday with a quote for removal, but I'm not sure its what is best for him 🙁 They are not painful, but one is infected. She has said she can give a cream for it. Pets are such a worry!
I have also chased the orange shop re our delivery that didn't turn up (again!). They are escalating it - again! Luckily the old fence panels are still holding up - just!!
Overall, a fairly productive day.10 -
I need to go dig out my bed.
DS1 has contributed towards household expenses.. not a lot but it all helps.. Moomin may have lunch tomorrow at college haha.
I've ticked off the items which have been paid and I appear to have lost the bit to recalculate the water payments.. I need to have a look on line I think . it might not be available on the app but I was sure it was.
GI.. good news re the lumps..
DS1 slept for 11 hours in his first night in a bed for over a year.. I think thats a good signI wish it worked for Dot.. she was up at midnight and at 4 and had to be dragged out of bed for school..

Morning xx
I'm here cheering you all on from the sidelines. Feeling drained- that'll be the backwash from the wave of drama last month. I'm spending as much time as I can with my books, music, prayer and meditation... solitude is my balm.
I was asked to sit with Papa Round on Monday morning and again yesterday - while Barbara fetched shopping that they needed, and, I suspect, escaped for an hour. Papa Round has picked up 'whatever' from somewhere - 86 year old teenager anyone? 😅
Eye Clinic this morning. Boris has shrunk and lost his legs, but is now more active, and annoying!!! And he gets very agitated when I am stressed. Ommmmmmmmm.
My bed is made. I will feed the birds and put out the recycling after second brew, breakfast, shower, hairwash, and get dressed.
The one item at a time decluttering of my bedroom continues. An ancient single duvet will be removed next. Woot woot.
Big hugs to all
Rxx
