ASB good for you, I have thought a lot about the happiness vs income dilemma lately. My job pays really well, but when you cant sleep at night and find yourself worrying about work over a weekend is it really worth it? I cant make any big decisions until the debts are cleared so have to keep going for another 3 or 4 years.
DS and GF have just turned up, we are having a roast dinner so invited them to stay but they are dithering about getting a takeaway and going back to DSs. I think DH would like them to stay, I think he misses talking to DS about blokey stuff like football and cricket!
Lots of home admin done, paperwork for voluntary job done and DHs accounts brought up to date, I also managed a little walk before the rain started so all good here. The garden needs the rain so I dont mind.10 -
Thanks guys. Your support means everything; I doubt as many people in RL will be as supportive but stuff them. They’re the same people who have basically mocked my frugal living adventures, accused me of being ‘tight’ (something I loathe) and I don’t hear from them much. I bought a round in the pub on Saturday and commented that a pint was dear (£5.50!!!), they said ‘oh here she goes again’... I was just commenting not moaning!
It’s not going to be easy, it involves downsizing and lots of other big changes, but fundamentally I will be HAPPY again. I’ve also deleted lots of contacts from my phone this weekend and blocked others.
My life, my rules xx

Good afternoon!
Thanks Natty for the lists, and thanks Valli for last week.
I had my 2nd jab this morning. A dear friend was volunteering there, so it was good to see her 😊 I have arranged to visit her one Monday morning when neither of us are working. Meal plan & food shop done. No rain yet, but it's too windy for allotmenting! And cold too, so I have decided not to potter in the garden either. DD2 & her BF are here for dinner. They are all downstairs playing taskmaster, so I have retreated upstairs. I get frustrated watching them grab stuff from the kitchen and/or my work craft stuff/toys to do silly pointless things with them, that create waste and/or mess! Yes, I am a joyless misery guts sometimes!! 🤣
Grumpy dog is confined to the kitchen again because he is leaking - again! It is so hard to know what to do 😥 We are still waiting for the results from last week's tests. He may need more ABs 🤔 Luckily he just eats them as he thinks they are treats! 🤣 I may need to spot clean the LR carpet and wipe down the sofas 🤢
Dinner is on (courtesy of DH) but I need to prep some salad. I should be sorting through some stuff while I am upstairs, but I cba!! And that is why I am in this mess - procrastinator extraordinaire!! Maybe I will run the hoover round 🤔
Round I'm glad to hear papa Round is home & on the mend.
ASB Well done on looking after number one
HB way to go! I need to channel my inner Honeybear!
Hugs to Fayolle & DM
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone!10 -
ASB.. happiness is a must. I vowed to not have anyone in my ife who did not bring love and happiness a few years ago and that extends to various activities too. Life is too short to be unhappy and we each have a responsibility to ourselves to be happy. and I agree. £5.50 is extortionate! I drink vodka and lemonade which is less than that at most bars here!! DS1 was just saying they charge nearly £6 for a pint of peroni!
Round.. There is nothing like your own bed though.. I'm totally with Papa Round there.
Today I have painted a radiator, done no washing because the sky is leaking, been to DD1's and entertained baboons.. Lionel had an allergic reaction to fresh tomato right before we did cake (I will pop a cakey pic up in a minute) OH was sent shopping and I haven't done pack ups yet because standing hurts too much.. but I need my nest.. so I best get them done.. this is why I do them while doing dinner!! I finished filling black bins.. I LOVE filling bins!
DS1 is pleased with his room and complained I got him a bed.. I asked how he would feel about one of his boys spending every night for a few years on a sofa.. he expressed gratitude and he approved of the zebra picture above the bed.. it was pictures of the girls there and I was going to put a big mirror there but the picture is more him.
I have an ebeast dispute running.. I hate non-payers.. if you can't afford something or change your mind just tell me you nitwit!! Surely that is easier!? I have 3 items paid ready to post, 5 waiting on payment and 2 with bids.. £77 incoming in payments!! TYVM.. and 20 items to list tomorrow. Money shuffled, all my 1st of the month direct debits came out so I jiggled money to get myself back in the black.. I had to borrow some from my window fund (possibly why it is not going up much!) but the bills are paid and that is one less thing to worry about!
OH is supposed to be going to the gym so I have the morning to be in pain and do nothing, I might go slob in bed with my laptop and phone and do nothing productive at all .. tbh.. I think I deserve time off after this weekend! It has been very hard work and I am not only in pain but I am exhausted, a day in bed might do me good!
Lunches and bed for me.
*plumps cushions for WAC and puts water in the kettle and fresh biscuits in the jar*
Love and hugs all xx

Piggers that cake is brilliant..Up and about, and I have lost what day it is - I was convinced yesterday was a Friday..lol Just going to get breakfast of microwaved porridge and cherries. I absolutely love these frozen cherries with the porridge, and I can have them on SW, added bonus..Not sure what today's plans are as I've done something to a muscle between my shoulder blades. Thought it would go away yesterday but it seems to still want to stay with me for a wee while longer.I think I'll get Dave to bring me all the drawers in the living room and I'll empty and gut them while on the sofa. At least I can say I've done something..🙂SW zoom tonight so want to be semi painfree for that. Have to bring something of interest to the meeting, have been racking my brains for what and so far I've come up with my Sukrin packets..they are exactly like sugar in taste and weight but totally free. Might be of interest to others 💕The weather here is very disappointing, all grey, miserable and wet. So I don't hold out much hope for the towels, going around in the machine not drying outside.Have to book a slot at my spa for use of the gym later this week so I can start it up again. And I thought if I booked, as required, then I would be more accountable to having to go.Hope everyone gets what they want done today, if not then don't beat yourself up over it there is still tomorrow 🙂
