Another NSD yesterday so that's 15 (I think).
Does anyone know anything about gardening? I planted up pots of pansies and violas for my neighbour some weeks ago. I have been watering them and generally looking after them. They were beautiful. Doing really well. When I went to tend to them yesterday they had died. All three pots. All flat and withered. All our other plants are perfectly fine and thriving. Any ideas as to what could have caused this?
Well, today I am determined to get on with things. Lots to do. I'm starting off by making a cottage pie for dinner and then I'm tackling the ironing. After that there is a long, long list to work through.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
@Toni'sfriend did you over water them, can the pots drain! Or did they get frost by any chance?
I made a massive mistake the other day - I bought chicken poo pellets for my plants, but it turns out the dog think they are food for her, so she's now busy sniffing all my plants. Not sure what to do. It says to mix well into soil - and teach her to dig up plants!
Still floating about on a little Welsh cloud. Wild ponies, puffins welsh cakes and sandy beaches! Dreaming ... Starry night sky ...
Anyways still need to get on with things here:
To mow or not to mow May - bindweed is currently loving to hide in my lawn!
Plant sunflowers
Go for a run
Feedback for students
Tidy away laundry
Start to plan serious decluttering, time to do an other shelf by shelf survey of house!

ditty - Definitely didn't overwater and they are in pots that can drain. Don't think there was a frost but the strange thing is that mine are fine. It's a mystery. I'm sure you're really looking forward to your Welsh holiday. I never been to Wales (apart from a morning in Llangollen when we were on a bus tour many years ago). It's somewhere I would really love to visit. I had a great, great aunt who lived there. She had a big family so I suspect I have some long lost distance relatives there. It looks really beautiful. Maybe one day .

So this month is not panning out the way I planned. Think I'm overspent on my miscellaneous budget, partly because I've not allowed enough for the cost of travel - getting the cs stuff to the shops is a bit costly. It comes out of mum's money but I set the £100 miscellaneous limit as a way of being 'accountable. My other problem is trying to avoid (chocolate, crisps, cake etc) by not having any in the house. This isn't working as several times I've gone out to the corner shop here when the need became too much, which is just compounding the problem, making it a money issue too (and a MH one as the resulting guilt, binge, beating myself up just escalates things).
So I'm changing tactics. My remaining money budget will be split 3 ways. Will do a small overnight order to include a few things we have run out of (yoghurts for breakfast but will have oats in them) and things to go with use ups, some fresh veg (for healthy snacks) and a few treats. I will revert to keeping the 'banned' items on top of the wardrobe so I have to make a decision to go and get them, not idly picking them up because they are within reach. Instead of wasting energy fighting the craving I will 'postpone the pleasure' (can have it if I want it but do I really want it now?) and distract myself with other activities (and alternative treats - perfume, put a nice dress on not my scruffs, dancing, done an hour this morning).
Second small food shop will be Iceland sometime next week, when there's lots of space in the freezer - this order will include a sack of onions and the first will include a sack of potatoes (to be kept in the revamped shed). Third shop will be a Tessimo order some time next week (want to have some goodies in for BH weekend and prospective visit by DS1, darling d-i-l and beloved grandpuppy - already cooked BBQ chicken for grandpuppy. Still a few bits to be retrieved from the depths of the freezer and I also want to do a full can stock take - mum is eating a lot of tinned fruit and I have been taking them from where I can see them. Need to run down what I have, then build up for autumn/ winter (different consumption pattern). We have frozen chicken for this week's Sunday dinner but then I want to buy more meat. Hoping to prepare salads and marinaded meat ahead of time (still have a few bits from mum's birthday last August).
Any more spending will come from the food budget (fingers crossed mum doesn't have any more plans - she did mention buying more fake flowers to go in her grotty) as I really want to get the cs items gone.
I'm also going to start a money/ food and mood diary (I have a notebook bought with present money) as I really cannot afford all the little spends - did two demotivators yesterday.
In good news DS3 transferred the next 12 weeks 'rent' money yesterday (I'm still working on bin theory) so bank balance is good - can't count it all as 'mine' because my contribution doesn't cover everything - monthly deficit was £4.50 but CT and some other DDs will have gone up.
Also planning a baking day - if I can't cut out sweet treats altogether, then at least I can get my act together and bake some healthier, less sugar options.
Grateful for the rain - would have carried on with outside work but glad of the break (filing needs cutting down to size), seeds sprouting well (need to write down what I have and plan next lot) and chocolate (chocolate understands - maybe the Quakers should have let everyone carry on drinking themselves to death). Apparently 4 squares = one portion so will try sticking to that.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage8 -

Hi turtlesSorry not posted few days. Still on 7 NSD. Did a small shop yesterday and bought gig tickets woo hoo, life hopefully getting back to normal.Today was going to be a NSD but was booking my car in garage and they had a lunchtime space free to adjust my tracking, got reduced rate £30 off nice manager. However my car is pretty rusty and it took them ages. Think I will seriously have to think about changing my car before next MOT in Jan. Only done 91k and spent a lot over last year but think it's days are numbered after 16 years with me.Wales is wet today folks, very wet here.Grateful forCar tracking done.Nice weather yesterday all outside jobs done, car cleaned, windows washed, washing dried and grass cut.Good walk yesterday my head is not coping with redundancy threat over my head and boss still refusing to give me a date. Sunny walk helped.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/228

Afternoon all, NSD 12 today. Took the day off sick as I've felt ill since Monday, it was nausea and headache now it's just headache but I'm going to sleep with it and then waking up with it. Had a ridiculously busy day planned at work which wouldn't have even allowed for a lunch break so I just thought that actually it's not worth it when I'm not feeling well, I never take time off sick and it's time to start listening to my body. I don't think it's a coincidence that I got ill the second I took a few days off work!
Anyway, nothing much achieved today other than watching TV, a couple of loads of washing and quickly cleaning my aquarium. Hope everyone is staying safe and dry in this weather!9 -
Wasn't an NSD today. I ordered a shedder of all things!. I've been spending the day trying to do a huge clear out. It is going to take forever and the house looks like a tip. On the plus side I've managed to dispose of lots but I found paperwork belonging to Himself and the Boy that goes back decades. Hence the shredder. That will all be going as soon as the shredder arrives. More to do tomorrow. I'm adopting a ruthless approach.
Cottage pie made, ironing done, tomorrow's dinner sorted. I think I'm getting back to normal.
Hugs to everyone who needs them. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
My weekend starts here! still have to do the school run tomorrow but apart from that my time is my own. Just got home from picking up the kids, DH is in a total state, so made him some toast, dosed him up on paracetamol, made him drink hot tea and have sent him to bed for an hour. Hopefully no face pain when he gets up, but there will be food ready and a clean kitchen even if he only eats and crashes out again. Poor thing. All the money left in the budget this week has been shunted across to savings. I 'rescued' a lot of ys bagels so I should be fine for breakfasts and snacks until Monday. Plenty of food in the house. I need nothing. I just need to remember that!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Today I am grateful for an unexpected apology from a colleague, for recordings of the Giro, for another great gym session, for a good book, for not getting wet.
