Raining this morning so concentrated on my room - seed packets collected together, sequins everwhere, filled a waste paper basket with rubbish, then transferred to bin bag (when I tried using the bin bag open, as many things fell out as I put in, found plastic wallets to subdivide the filing.
When I managed to get outside I've been digging, stapling mesh panels to the fence panels (some already in place but bottom edge needed doing), breaking down old trellis (kept long pieces to use for plant support) and sawing. Chunks of old tree, rubbish, weeds and plastic to relevant bins.
Spent about an hour on the phone with my niece. Baby brother may be going home tomorrow (threatened to discharge himself if they tried to keep him). Niece and friend spent 10'5 hours cleaning on Saturday and most of today swapping the contents of his main and spare bedrooms because he can't have an oxygen tank in the room with a gas fire, except that now they are not sending him home with oxygen.
Brother is now insisting he does not need stair lift etc and can do things for himself (except niece has already been doing all his shopping, what cleaning and decluttering he will allow, all his paperwork/ admin and dealing with anything that needs sorting). Poor girl has taken 3 months unpaid leave starting Saturday and brother has been shouting at her today. Told her to threaten him with mum (he will do anything to avoid a visit from mum - she can't go but hope the threat works) or me doing my 'big sister' act. Just kept telling her she was doing the right thing and to laugh/shrug off any complaints and distance herself if all else fails - and can phone me if she needs to let off steam.
Grateful for using up odds and ends for meals, getting outside and getting on, small pools of space appearing. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7 -

A very sunny, warm day in Orkney today. Work went well, then completed two sewing jobs after tea. Had a lovely surprise, I've won a 4" drip cake in a FB competition. I've asked for a lemon cake, as hubby not able to eat chocolate with his kidney problems.
Grateful for being able to support two friends going through different tricky times, a sunny day, cake 😋Use it up, wear it out

Morning turtles, haven't checked in for a few days as am visiting family so generally staying offline, although everyone is in bed so I thought I'd catch up!
Currently on 10 NSD's now. Today should be another with any luck. My joy at thinking I'd paid more more my car off than I'd thought was short lived as I messed up and actually haven'tbut it's not that bad, this month's payment went through yesterday and I'll still have it cleared in 5 months, maybe 4 if I chuck some overpayments at it. It would've taken me so much longer to clear this amount of debt a few years ago so I'm not complaining. I'm sick of paying £300 a month towards debt but have to remind myself that I didn't NEED this car last year but I WANTED it (very un turtle like) and this is the consequence!
Felt really unwell yesterday, I'm not sure if it's because I ate too much (don't normally have breakfast but had quite a large one and then mum wanted chips at the seaside so had to eat those even though I wasn't hungry and then the sickness set in). Went to bed very early indeed. Hopefully today is back to normal.
Grateful for sunshine this morning (although don't think it'll last long), seeing family again after 9 months, and being able to relax.6 -

NSD 9. No rain and so many things to do. Mum had phoned her hairdresser and she came at 10.30 am. Mum has had her hair cut short and will no longer torture it with perming and rollers. I gathered plastic bottles from at least 3 locations in the yard, wrappers went in the black bin, top halves (many already cut) into the tall compost bin, bottom halves in the bag that once had full bottles. Some things, including bags which had had soil in them, hung on the line to dry out.
All 3 decorative panels have been dismantled, plastic leaves and flowers in the black bin, longer lengths put aside to use for plant support and smaller broken bits into the green bin. 5 brassica plants cut down - stalks in green bin, 'cabbage' part kept, roots and soil put in a container to dry out. Afternoon visit from mummy of twins - she took daft dog to the vet as she has become food obsessed. Vet said dog had lost 1 kg - dog has recently stolen/eaten one whole birthday cake, one box of maltesers, many biscuits and if given half a chance will run off with the kids lunch boxes when they get back from school. Carried on sorting out. Went out the back way after m-o-t visited and put the keys in my cardigan pocket. so that I could unlock the door for twin 2 when she arrived. Door was open so didn't need the keys and were not in my pocket later. They will turn up (mum has already made me empty a bin and a bin bag.
Brother was due to come home in the ambulance this evening. He's in a much better mood. Niece phoned her mum, mum spoke to other daughter who then phoned her dad - went through all the things older sister had told him at least 5 times. He listened to her and has apologised to daughter no 1 today. He will be having a home assessment tomorrow to work out what help he needs - we are expecting he will refuse people coming into the house but is more open to adaptations (stair lift, grab rails etc).
Grateful for easy food from use ups and freezer finds, getting things done (would have to get cloned to do all that wanted doing), lots of company and some sitting down.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6 -

Morning all and @DrCarrie what will be your treat today! I ground my coffee last night so it doesent wake the young one and I'm about to go and have my coffee before rushing off to work.
@mothernerd sounds like your dog has had quite a party. I once left a neighbours dog alone with 4 pizzaz on the stove top - my own dog only has short legs so not a problem - this dog had a party. No pizzas left when I got back, he looked a bit guilty though. That was a lot of pizza for/in one dog.
I am grateful I had a lovely 1k swim last night not too bad after not swimming since before Christmas. Grateful for ds1 now actually heading for a decent overall grade for his uni course after he got a glam grade for his dissertation. Jubilations. He worked so hard on it. And it was about the institutionalisation of food poverty - something that should not be happening (to anybody).
