savers_united said:Mstty said:milo_2020 said:2 months ago - I spoke to a CS agent on the phone who initiated my switch which was delayed until my fix with So.Energy ended and then he made it so that i went directly onto V3. I made it very clear i wanted the 11p cap and he understood and done the magic.
I posted here but had doomsayers saying CS agents are wrong as usual, but here we are!
It was confirmed by him after reading out a memo that has been circulated internally that both Tracker and Agile caps will be honoured for the term of contract (12mths I believe), as a result it has brought closure to my complaint with Octopus having now put things right. So at least from what I have been told they will be honouring the caps for the duration of contract.
However with news that the October Ofgem cap may be frozen or some other interventions it is getting more difficult to know what is the right thing to do.The ‘problem’ is that these are not mainstream tariffs and have, in the past, been dealt with by specialist team members.1 -
Where do you even find these tariffs? I'm with Octopus and when I was on the SVT they only offered me the 1 year fix, and after I took that they don't offer me any tariff options at all.
3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). Octopus Flux0 -
On the smart tariffs sections, SVT probably better rates than the fixes they offer, its almost 80p at the minute0

There might be others but that should get you started. Thanks! So for tracker it appears to have caps that are slightly lower than the 1yr fix I already have with them (56p & 17p), with the potential to go lower (although I don't expect to see that any time soon). I'm not sure what the downside of switching to that would be unless the caps are free to change, while I'm guaranteed this price until next August, but people are saying 12 months? For Agile, well have a connected smart meter (even managed to take part in a couple of 'plunge' pricing tests in 2020), but is that electric only? I guess I'd need a gas tariff, which I assume would be the SVT (currently predicted to cap below my fix until it gets warm).I see a 'subscription fee' that is priced and described like the standing charge, is that what it is or is it in addition to the SC?Don't have an EV so I'm stuck there.Finding it hard to see the downside in the current climate. So what am I missing?

You can move your electricity to Agile and keep your current gas fix, or move gas to Tracker, if you'd prefer those to the SVT. The "subscription" is the standing charge by another name. For Agile, well have a connected smart meter (even managed to take part in a couple of 'plunge' pricing tests in 2020), but is that electric only? At least in principle, these are "beta" tariffs and you might find bugs with the website. A couple of examples: Tracker gas occasionally doesn't tell you the unit price for a day or two, esp. it seems over bank holiday weekends, and Agile can fail to generate a bill if there's a gap in the smart meter data. You might want to keep a closer eye on things than you would do with a standard tariff.Finding it hard to see the downside in the current climate. So what am I missing?N. Hampshire, he/him. I would go for it still - I am still recommending to people they go for it if its close to their fix as the possibility of being under the cap is still there, albeit low. To be fair, tracker is not pegged at the cap still at the minute, so you would still be under:
