*55p cap with Agile.
They changed it for new switchers on 22nd July and the SC is now (I think) 45p. Those already on the tariff have kept their rates, hopefully for the 12 months the contract lasts (I switched on 21st July)Barnsley, South Yorkshire

My electricity is with octopus, go faster (until end Nov) gas with shell on the cap. As of last Thursday for gas I was offered loyal 12m and variable with octopus:Loyal 12m Fixed-Unit charge 17.18p/kWhStanding charge 27.22p/dayFlexible Octopus-Unit charge 7.34p/kWhStanding charge 27.22p/dayAny advice on which is best? I don't have experience of variable and can't easily follow Martin's advice etc as my fuels are separate and I'm befuddled . Then you!0

At that price fixed it would be worthwhile going to Tracker V4 still with a 14p cap0

I follow your advice with interest.
You will recall my post yesterday where I copied Octopus' reply to my email regarding Agile.
I think you stated thay had got confused an provided info on Agile outgoing rather than the proper Agile tariff.
Do you think I should consider asking Octopus again about the Agile tariff?
I am currently on the Avro 2021 tariff which runs out in October...

@MarcoM Think it was me said they were telling you about Agile outgoing which is for SEG payments with solar.
Plenty of info on Agile with below link and many other things Octopus

thanksPrice Cap Protect keeps you safe from surge prices
When more electricity is being used than generated, wholesale prices rise. While price spikes are short-lived, typically lasting 30 minutes to an hour, they do happen. Agile Octopus includes Price Cap Protect, which ensures you'll never pay more than 55p / kWh for your electricity, guaranteed.
The 55p/kWh Cap is fixed for a year. Tariff unit prices change every 30 minutes (released about 4pm the previous day).
