Octopus Tracker

I think I will wait for the current tracker to expire .. not long now. And of course it is no longer "Octopus Kraken," they have sold Kraken off. See this interesting article that indicates that Octopus have work to do, to comply with regulatory issues they are currently in breach of:
If it is any consolation, her opinion of Ovo is even worse..

Hmmm, is there a pinch of salt board on here 😎.
Anyway let's not get side tracked with her , I am on tracker for gas Dec24, which expires for me on 7th March, and Sept 25 is nowhere as good as that e.g. 5.15 vs 4.76 today circa 8% more and some gas fixes elsewhere are more lucrative. The problem is just switching the gas, the comparison sites don't want to play nicely, and I don't want to switch electricity. The other drawback , if I can find a supplier it means going back to manual readings for gas. Octopus' gas is too expensive at their fix/variable rate and the only good point that the heating season is ,hopefully, ending soon.4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . You mean, by the blogger? No idea but she does seem to have the facts on her side. They are in breach.

"The other drawback , if I can find a supplier it means going back to manual readings for gas"
Octopus and British Gas recently both connected to my Gas S/M from switch date when I had electricity elsewhere, SP were unable to connect to my Gas S/M when I had dual fuel with them.

Try Fuse they let you have Gas only and are cheap.

would it not be better to say 'unless we hear from you we will assume that you wish to remain on your current tariff' rather than just saying that unless one takes action you will be moved to flexible?
It's not the same tariff though, it will be a different version. And the default for energy companies is the standard variable tariff (Flexible Octopus in this case), that's what they have to put you on if you don't take action to choose a specific tariff.
(We've not long had to renew on Agile, same process.)

My tracker tariff is ending within a few days. I only have a fixed or flexible availabe. Should I allow myself to go onto the flexible and then later I am allowed to go onto a tracker or should I fix because the tracker is no longer available?

A new tracker tariff will be available .. whether you take it up can only be your choice. The EDF tariff mentioned above looks enticing to me.

You’ve run your usage through this, haven’t you:
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cheapenergyclub/It’s very good, and you can search for individual fuels or dual fuel.
