Oops, looks like my comments appeared twice. thought first had not been published so did new version.
My thoughts have not changed, particularly regarding customer service.
It is said that there is a limit to everything. This cannot be true as everything has no limit!0 -
Thanks! .. the electricity figures are 2.5p/KwH more than I'm paying, but that may be just the East Midlands (I'm SE). Anyone got any Sep 2025 version actual electic figures for the SE, or know where I can get them?
If what I said helped you, please "Thank" the relevant post. It cheers me up somewhat..0 -

Ah, perfect, thanks!
I see that the electric prices for the SE are still 2.5p higher .. and so is the daily standing charge. That's annoying, because it means I shall have to shop around when the time comes. Diary note made!

It’s only when you do a full check on something like the invaluable MSE price checker based on actual usage figures that you realise just how expensive Tracker has become, and how far out of line Octopus generally has become as it seeks to improve its balance sheet. It trades on its past excellent reputation for customer service, but the past isn’t necessarily a guide to the present - as I found when I had to resort to the Energy Ombudsman to get Octopus to see sense over what should have been a simple billing issue.

I cannot speak here of what may have occurred in the past and notwithstanding that the Octopus Tracker tariff is not a fixed tariff in the usual sense (but it is of a fixed term), nor that Octopus do not apply early exit fees for leaving tracker early (Octopus rarely apply early exit fees to any of their tariffs), it would appear to me that if Octopus were to automatically roll you over to a new fixed term tracker tariff (i.e. without your express consent), that would be in breach SLC 22C.5(b)
Remember, if you cancel an Octopus tracker fixed term tariff early, Octopus will force you to wait at least 9 months before you can rejoin. If the tracker tariff ends because it has come to the end of the agreed fixed term, you can agree a new tracker tariff any time you wish.

I think if Octopus lost a lot of electricity customers to this tariff rates change daily, following day rates available after midday Octopus might then offer a better alternative to current tracker version.

That does look attractive .. and significantly lower than my Tracker.
My gut feeling is that Octopus is a much nicer British company than the French EDF, that is ripping us off something rotten over nuclear. But money does talk!

EDF using Octopus Kraken billing and CS system, once tariff is set in motion unlikely to need to contact EDF and as long as EDF receive 1/2 hour readings only takes 1 or 2 working days to get on Freephase. Octopus staff cover longer hours and more days than EDF staff.
Up to about 3rd January I averaged 18p plus VAT for month. North West Region.
Freephase Dynamic has 9 Month return rule after leaving same as Tracker. No Exit Fees.
