Octopus Tracker

Looks like quite a few are hitting Octopus on 'X' about the same thing. Seems like you can get put on the lastest Tracker tariff.
It is very short notice this time though, 2 days. Last year I got the email 6 weeks before the tracker tariff ended.

Cannot see the option in the App. Should it be in the change tariff section?

The actual figures involved in the latest version of Tracker might come as something of a shock to anyone on an earlier version. Do look at the various fixes available, many of which could prove a much better bet. This would have proved a very expensive winter for us had we not fixed in October, and some of the gas fixes are even lower now.

As I said earlier, I have received same email.
This is not a customer friendly way of doing business. Hence my comment re worsening customer service.
If I had been told at beginning of contract that it was my responsibility to confirm or otherwise and make a decision at the end of the contract then not a problem but i was not.
With regard to staying or going, i have monthly data going back to April 23 comparing the various tariffs and have saved a considerable amount being on Tracker as opposed any other tariff, including non Octopus tariffs.
My average kWh tariff over that period has been substantially lower than other tariffs for both electricity and gas and for the past 12 months has been 5% lower than the currently offered fixed tariffs.
Obviously, no-one knows what the future holds but, for now, my gut feeling is to stick with Tracker.

I'm on April v1 2025 and I suspect you might be right. Is there an easy way to look at the actual figures for the current version?
If what I said helped you, please "Thank" the relevant post. It cheers me up somewhat..0 -
Should it be in the change tariff section?
Yes, it's there. Press the "change tariff" button and you'll be given options.
It is very short notice this time though, 2 days.
Maybe the email function had a big?
Mine has been visible in the app - with a countdown - for quite a while. I think the countdown began at 49 days, so 7 weeks?

You can use
Have to say, when my Tracker comes to an end, I'll have a look at Fuse, if they do gas only and Octopus haven't changed the formula to something sensible Tracker makes no sense for Gas now.

As i said previously, i have also received the email.
Yes, it may be easy to log on and select tariff but would it not be better to say 'unless we hear from you we will assume that you wish to remain on your current tariff' rather than just saying that unless one takes action you will be moved to flexible? Hence my earlier comment regarding quality of customer service.
With regard to staying on Tracker, i have monthly data going back to April 23 covering my usage and comparisons with other tariffs, I have save considerably over all other tariffs, including non Octopus.
My average kWh rate has been a lot lower for gas and electricity over that period and, in fact, over the past 12 months has been 5% lower than the currently offered fixed tariff.
Whilst the future is unknown, my gut feeling is to stick with Tracker for now.

And against that the October Ecotricity gas fix was 4.62p for East Midlands, though with a higher SC. Even lower now I believe.
