Flexible is the SVR capped tariff, so definitely not the same as Tracker.

Tracker has never come up if you are an Octopus customer and you click "change tariff".

Octopus have always defined some of their tariffs as kind of "experimental" - therefore they don't present them to every customer who wants to change tariff - you need to specifically search for the tracker tariff to sign up.

    > You can only join Octopus from another supplier on the fixed or flexible tariffs, this is true.
    > But if you join the flexible tariff, you can switch immediately to a range of smart tariffs, including Tracker.
    > I'm on tracker and don't have a "change tariff" button at all. But you do get a button for "Smart tariffs" and this includes tracker and various other tariffs.
If what I said helped you, please "Thank" the relevant post. It cheers me up somewhat..

.They have said they'll look into it further and get back to me. Will let you know what comes next.
Apparently they've consulted a meeting specialist and they have now assured me that I am definitely being billed on my actual daily readings.
The fact my actual daily readings are up and down like a Plymouth girl's knickers when the fleet's in, but my billed readings aren't, is apparently nothing to be concerned by.
Wondering whether it's worth a complaint, or just to put up with it.
A new gas bill and it looks as though they've fixed whatever the problem was (that they denied having).
For example, on my August bill I had five consecutive days when I used 5.64kWh a day. For almost the entire month my daily usage charge was 26p or 27p.
September is completely different. No two days have the same energy used. They range from ~4kWh to ~30kWh, and from 19p to £1.43.
This is the first convincingly daily-metered Tracker Gas bill that I've had in a year. Fingers crossed for October!

Which is why, I suppose, I religiously submit manual readings also. But monthly, not daily.

Unless they have changed it, for gas (don't know about electricity) you only have to miss one half hour reading in your billing month, and the whole bill will be averaged.
Until a software update fixed my meter, out of the 1500 or so half hour readings each month, I regularly had 1 or 2 go missing, causing my gas bill to be averaged every month.

My gas bill was averaged across June when we were away for a lot of it. The rates peaked while we weren't using any gas so I wasn't best pleased. I checked on the datachecker on Octoprice but it showed no missing data so I don't know what else happened. I do check Octoprice and if there's missing data I ask them to repull the data from the DCC.

when i was on tracker i had this alot with Gas and checked as i could see no missing data.

what i discovered was "missing data" clashing with "no use" is different (of course) so if the missing data happened to be a half hour with no use, it's still missing data and the bill is smoothed out over the month. i had as many bills smoothed as i di accurate.
