    Thanks.

Octopus Compare has a price with tracker and agile - tracker being marginally lower (and both being much lower than standard variable and price cap). The standing charges look, at first glance, to be similar.

I presume that the costs its spat out are what it would've cost me i.e. its taken my actual usage per half hour and multiplied that by whatever the agile rate was for that same half hour?

If so, the only difference will be the EV charging which i guess i would do overnight and/or at a time when the rate is low/negative, whereas if i remain on tracker rates i'll be adding several kWs per day to my existing usage. Or in other words given that with agile my prices are the same as tracker, adding an EV on with the ability to set it to charge during low periods should be the cheapest option overall?

Octopus Go looked sensible initially, but looks to be about £250 more per annum. Intelligent Go less so, but still more than tracker.

(though, i guess, adding an EV on this might change the numbers somewhat).

Maybe i need to run the car for a month then do some comparisons...

I recently crunched the numbers for someone over on the "Motoring" board. Take a look and see how close this is to your case:

    Morning all.

Currently on Octopus Tracker (July 2024), and happy with it. Averaged 20.43p electricity and 4.79p gas over the last month, far below the cap (24.19p and 6.63p respectively).

I am, however, about to get an EV. Does anyone have any suggestions of the best approach for me now? Agile looked viable and means a nice rate overnight etc. to charge, though at the potential expense of increased cost during the day (which may well balance out). I also see there is Octopus Go, but that looks like it offsets cheap EV charging rates with a much higher unit rate (currently c.27p). What have others done?

Is there a website i can bung in my usage data over the last couple of months to compare what the costs would've been with various tariffs?
Octopus compare app will allow you to compare different tariffs. I have a hybrid and moved from Agile to Octopus Go, because I guarantee charging at 8.5p & it hasn’t been this low all the time on Agile for some time. Without the EV charging my usage is very low, and there isn’t any real difference between Tracker, Agile or Go, so I picked the tariff with the lowest rate for the EV charging

A bit of a jump in Tracker gas prices over the last 2-3 days. Up 6% from 5.01p midweek to 5.31p now (that's Dec 24 v1 in Southern region, others will vary).
Must be the raised tensions in the Middle East?

Probably. It may all blow over pretty quickly, but if not it’ll be interesting to watch the fixed price offers.

AutoSergei? That's an honest question, I don't let the Meerkats send me marketing emails so I don't know if they'll send out a weekly/monthly rundown.

I have googled AutoSergei.  I was unaware that this was buried somewhere in Oct Compare.
