Do you find that doing your own individual DIY research in the All-Our-Tariffs' various options gives better results than what comes up by default if you put in the post code when requested?

Edit: What I had meant to say was doing a comparison with "requesting a quote" which is presumably where the system does the number crunching for you.  Or not ..

Octopus 16M Fixed February 2025 v3 out - for me, lower for both electricity & gas than v2; in fact, it's only slightly more expensive than the Loyalty Fix, making the latter look unimpressive for a supposed loyalty product... perhaps there will be a v2 Loyalty on the way?
Compared few days ago, Octo Loyalty fix seemed to merely be a close ish match to British Gas 12 month fix rates available to new and existing customers.( North West)

Put your postcode in, filter with domestic, and all the tariffs are there - scroll through the options, switch between current and historical as required  - easy.

For me, the 'Loyal' fix is identical to current SVT.

Per gastracker.uk it looks like another useful gas price drop tomorrow, getting closer to 6p on the Dec 24 formula. Long may it continue!

Could we hear from those who analyse the upstream data sources and longer term trends what the latest mid range predictions have in store for us. Having myself  just switched to an end-of-Dec-23-Tracker fixed tariff, it was predictable that prices would do a nose dive

    Cornwall Insight cap forecast here:
It's updated periodically, but is currently predicting 26.57p/kWh for electricity and 7.00p/kWh for gas, effective from April. That's a 6.7% increase in the headline cap from £1738 to £1823.

    Isn't it 4.9%?

Tks. Looking at the unit charges my impression is that I was "right" to go for the 14-Month fix from a p/kWh perspective but "wrong" for standing charges. Which resurrects the debate: Are there SC's which Cornwall can predict from a market perspective, and separate additional SC's that are the choice of the supplier / Octopus?   Smoke & mirrors.

Edit: I should have added that for the North East our benchmark (14-M fix) is 22.62 p/kWh and 70.05p /day for elec, and 6.15 p/kWh and 29.68 p/day for gas
