I'm in the same boat as most others: I should be booted off Tracker Dec 23 (both fuels) today and they should be putting me onto the 14-month fix. It then becomes a matter of shadowing the latest Tracker (new one in March??) long enough to get a feel for where it's heading in its time context. And then jumping back on board. Gut feel is that prices will fall in the Spring,  and gut feel can be unreliable. Better at least to take into account informed comment in this thread if the gurus can continue voicing their opinions please as events unfold.

What are people doing these days when your older tracker expires, are you moving to a fixed tariff for gas and renewing electricity on the new tracker (December 2024)? Or fixing both as Martin is suggesting?
Lots of folk from this thread have left Tracker for other Octopus tariffs. A few have switched supplier, with most of those going to Tomato.
I'd negotiated switching to a 12m fixed in the last few days of December. Switch took place three weeks ago just as prices were peaking. In no hurry to go back to Tracker, but will keep an eye on trends anyway. Projected consumption has fallen to ~1700kWh for electricity and ~2300kWh for gas. Not a lot of scope to save much money with that sort of consumption.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

    All the more reason ..

If there comes a sustained period of Tracker outperformance, taking account of how they   ..about with future formulas, I could be tempted. If the magnitude warrants it.

I have fixed my gas for 16m from tomorrow. I can’t see that gas would cost me significantly less on any other tariff and potential protects me for next winter. With no exit fees, I can move back to tracker if conditions improve

My electric was on Agile, and I’ve already moved this to Cosy.

I wouldn't be too quick to jump back onto tracker as it matters less what it will be doing in spring as consumption tends to fall dramatically as well, so the price difference becomes insignificant.
Of more interest over the spring/summer is what the fixed tariffs are doing, watch those to see if you can trade to a lower fix at some point.
As winter approaches and with the benefit of a few more months to see how the geopolitical climate is trending and the Tracker formulas evolve we should be in a better place to decide if it is wise to jump...

Maybe for gas but worth keeping an eye on for electricity, especially high users.

Cosy is a satisfactory fallback for us, cheaper than the SVT, but it's not saving us *very* much.  I'm rather hoping we might see cheaper spells on Tracker/Agile as the weather warms up and demand lowers.

Must check .. low to moderate consumption as predicted for a single household. Low enough for SC's to be a factor in the calcs.
On this very topic am I right in thinking that the only way of checking past actual and smart meter readings, as opposed to consumption, on the web site is to look up individual past invoices?? A way of making what should be a routine task a time consuming bind.

Just look at the closing meter reading on your latest bill, and from the bill 12 months ago.

The app shows meter reading history, but that was removed from the web site. Most people would keep their own record.

That's my point. I started keeping my own records rather belatedly after thinking that such basic historical info would be readly lookupable on the website. I don't have the confidence to put my faith in them getting it right (after my ordeal with "re-billing") without cross-checks.

Well my gas tariff has changed to flexible today as asked. Trouble is they've changed elec from agile as well. I knew he'd done that at first and asked him not to and he assured me it was a mistake and he'd corrected it, which he hasn't. Don't they make things difficult.
    Sigh….

If you haven’t already contacted them to sort that out for you, I recommend contacting them via Twitter, the team there seem to be a lot better that those I come across via email.

They changed my gas this week but had changed me to the wrong gas tariff 🤦‍♀️
