It might do a yo-yo depending on which mood Trump is in. I'd prefer to take a longer view.
I've got 6.75 dropping to 6.37 (North East). Nothing to write home about.Telegraph Sam

My account is now showing a 3rd option of Loyal Octopus 16M Fixed which is a whole £3.50 a month less. I have now fixed before they change it again, especially after seeing Martin's show tonight and the predicted 5%-7% increase in April.0 -

It's all very clear.0 -

I'm looking at BBC weather for next week and temps rising meaning less gas demand plus gas prices dropped by as much as it has, Tracker may make a comeback 😁0

Loyal Octopus 16M Fixed February 2025 v1 is Octopus 16M Fixed February 2025 v1 (the one recently pulled) for me (W Mids).
What are people doing these days when your older tracker expires, are you moving to a fixed tariff for gas and renewing electricity on the new tracker (December 2024)? Or fixing both as Martin is suggesting?

Open market does what it does, massive over reactions to little things, I dont think the gas supply would turn back on quickly after peace as there will be trust issues.

Or fixing both as Martin is suggesting?Lots of folk from this thread have left Tracker for other Octopus tariffs. A few have switched supplier, with most of those going to Tomato. My gas-only Tracker Dec 23v1 expires tomorrow and I'm sticking with Tracker, still gas-only. I've calculated in a previous post that I'm only gambling with ~£6 a month, even in the remaining cold months.

I'm in the same boat as most others: I should be booted off Tracker Dec 23 (both fuels) today and they should be putting me onto the 14-month fix. It then becomes a matter of shadowing the latest Tracker (new one in March??) long enough to get a feel for where it's heading in its time context. And then jumping back on board. Gut feel is that prices will fall in the Spring, and gut feel can be unreliable. Better at least to take into account informed comment in this thread if the gurus can continue voicing their opinions please as events unfold.Telegraph Sam

And then jumping back on board.I wouldn't be too quick to jump back onto tracker as it matters less what it will be doing in spring as consumption tends to fall dramatically as well, so the price difference becomes insignificant.Of more interest over the spring/summer is what the fixed tariffs are doing, watch those to see if you can trade to a lower fix at some point. As winter approaches and with the benefit of a few more months to see how the geopolitical climate is trending and the Tracker formulas evolve we should be in a better place to decide if it is wise to jump...
