I've noticed people who've switched saying that the new tariff begins when their current one ends (unless they specifically request an instant switch) - is there a limit to how far in advance of the current tariff end date you can select a new tariff? My Tracker fixed-term doesn't end until June.0

In theory no but in practice 49 days if you want to have the liberty to rejoin Tracker without the (3, or is it 9?) month excommunication period. That at least is how I have interpreted the many observations on this. I want to have the liberty to rejoin Tracker from the 14 month fix when the crystal balls say is a good time to do so, without hanging about.Telegraph Sam

Octopus 16M Fixed February 2025 v1 replaced by v2 - for me, both fuels more expensive.

What I did notice though upon receiving my Octopus bill this morning - my gas costs went up by 75% since the same month last year, which was almost all driven by the Tracker price rather than usage (usage was up 9%).
Maybe last year was a one off, or maybe we will see good savings on tracker next winter - who knows!1 -
I like to follow sites like gastracker.uk in order to see things in proper context. Regrettably there isn't a look-up setting for next winter (yet)Telegraph Sam

Why would there be septic peg is no longer betting on the energy market.
That's effectively what it is a gamble.0 -

Decent drop in wholesale gas prices, apparently fuelled by the possibility of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine….1
