I've just got my email re when the tariff finishes for me on 15 February. I imagine lots are getting those emails today. Interestingly looking at the new January price structure for gas tracker, prices appear to have reduced from October. But of course up from the old tariff I was on. Now to make a decision.

I have had my renewal email today as well.
If I click on the link to "renew electricity on Tracker" it takes you to a web page that says your new tracker tariff will be

    Octopus Tracker December 2024 v1

If you then go to a website called gastracker you can input your reagion and can do a comparison between tariffs.
I'm in the East Midlands and it seems that the daily price of electricity is approximately 2p more expensive between Dec23 and Dec24. Gas is approximately 0.25p per day more expensive.
The standing charges are more expensive but I believe that applies to all tariffs anyway.

Todays gas tracker price is more expensive than the 12M fix (and the svr as well)

    Decisions, decisions.

I can't see on this new tariff if there is there a cap still on the new tracker prices, like there used to be?

Today, in my region (Southern), Tracker Dec 24v1 electricity is cheaper (18.12p/kWh) than either Flexible (24.98p/kWh) or 12m Fixed Dec 24v1 (21.89p/kWh).
No-one can say if it will continue to be cheaper for the next year, or not.
Gas is 6.31 vs. 6.42 or 5.97 on the same basis.

Interesting. I don't get a button. I have to reply to the email to renew gas tracker. On the web at https://octopus.energy/tracker-faqs/ there seems to be an October version and a version that starts after 9am on 31st December. Calling it a December tariff is Octopus reaching a bit. Either way it appears to be slightly cheaper than the previous version.
