Octopus Tracker

No information has been released, so we probably won't know until it is launched, but it is likely to be very similar to the October one.nekr0mantik said:anyone know estimates for Tracker starting in January?if its cheaper to go on current fix then stay on tracker then I can switch before 1st.

your electricity offer is a E7 dual rate do you used most of your electric at night?, if your wanting a fixed single ask them for it, again via twitter with acc number name and address, and yes take the gas if i was uperrinelli said:I’m thinking I should fix the gas but leave electricity on the July 24 tracker maybe?
I can’t use little 4-7pm so don’t think agile would be good for me
btw is that your gas & electric consumption 21224kwh of gas, are you paying for 2 houses1 -
Ah I noticed a dual rate but not got an economy 7 meter or anything I don’t think 🤔 I don’t use electric at night so single would be better for me.
About 8 months in this new house.
What do you mean am I paying for two houses? Is the gas usage very high? Am only paying for one but I do have two octopus accounts, one for the previous rental.0 -
yes your consumption is almost double the avg home
your not still linked to that property i hope and paying there bills aswell?1 -
Ah thanks, I don’t think so but I’ll check.
it might be new gas “woodburner” I had installed and have probably been enjoying using a bit too much1 -
I did then get an error message but was able to switch gas tariffs by phoning Octopus,
I also asked them about my dual electricity quote. I’m so glad I posted as I had no idea my new house had an economy 7 meter 🤦♀️
doesn’t make a difference for the tracker seemingly anyway but they’ve given me a quote for 12m fixed electric. Trying to work out if it would be wise to swap to it (from the July 24 tracker)

You can use an app called Octopus Compare to see if Agile would be any good for you. We can't stay away from the peak either and surprisingly Agile works out cheaper - even with usage during the peak AND with price spikes the last couple of months - than the newer Tracker versions and Flexible (haven't compared to any fixes though).perrinelli said:I can’t use little 4-7pm so don’t think agile would be good for me1 -
i would take the fix on both electric and the gas straightaway, and even ask them if they can backdate itperrinelli said:I did then get an error message but was able to switch gas tariffs by phoning Octopus,

also ask octopus for a octopus home mini, it gives you live usage & price connected to the appperrinelli said:Ah thanks, I don’t think so but I’ll check.

I have to confess that what I take to be the Home Mini turned up here unannounced - and has not yet come out of lts box. A solution looking for a problem. Could someone explain in simple language just how I "use" it, in what situations, and what benefits it offers. I prefer to use my desktop PC rather than a not-so-reliable mobile for my interactions with Octopus.Telegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0
