My view is that you have to view this data in context - both sides of the equation. For as long as the mild conditions continue there must be a reduction in demand from reduced heating bills that affects the net balance. Whether this can be meaningfully quantified of course, that I leave to the expert contributors to this forum.Telegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know2 -
I’m on Jul 24 and my latest bill says I would have saved money on the 12m fixed.Stick with it or jump ship? 🤔0

I wouldn't have signed up to Jul 24. The most recent bill will probably have included the very unusual price spike, so may not be representative, however.perrinelli said:I’m on Jul 24 and my latest bill says I would have saved money on the 12m fixed.Stick with it or jump ship? 🤔

a gas fix looks cheaper, looking today for the north east july24 tracker 6.44p kwh for gas and fix is 5.85p, yes it will vary a little region by region, so gas straightaway would be cheaper and 21.51p kwh for electric
see what octopus are offering on your account and let us know what its saying
also agile is worth looking at its TOU can you go lightly between 4pm-7pm if so its worth looking at0 -
The only apparent reason for someone staying on gas tracker July/Octopus 24 versions is if they want to be on currently most expensive gas tariff heading into a cold spell, electricity not much in it if comparing with Octopus 12 month fix rather than cheaper electricity fixes elsewhere, its whether someone would rather fix for certainty during winter months rather than gamble on possible lower/higher days when very windy/not windy.perrinelli said:I’m on Jul 24 and my latest bill says I would have saved money on the 12m fixed.Stick with it or jump ship? 🤔0 -
my gas tracker runs out on 8/01 so I will fix when it expires. Electric is flux and panels and battery make that cheaper for me.4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . i have been looking at maybe fixing on Gas and make a decision on both Feb 15th but when looking to switch i keep getting "something went wrong, try again later".
maybe they are changing the January Fix? can someone check if they have the same issue, you don't have to go far in to hit the error message.
thanks.0 -
