I've switched to the fix, tried to do so online but it says start date in Feb 2025 which is when my tracker ends, so I had to phone them.
if you can keep off the 4-7pm slots agile is on par if not cheaper with your tracker imo weekend gone has been a free for all

Today is extremely windy in Glasgow and yet tomorrow the rate jumps from 18p to 24p  I thought tomorrow would be cheap on account of wind.  Odd.

Looks like it’s just a case of a lull in the winds for a while.

No smart meter here, happy with the fix, don't want to have to avoid certain times however.

If wind speeds rise too high, the turbines need to be shut down. High winds can cause a lot of damage to the mechanical bits.

I don't think there's much chance of them needing to shut down turbines today. Wind has dropped and will continue to do so. The low corresponds to this evening's peak and will be the reason for the high price today. The wind looks to be picking up again on Friday and for the weekend, but it won't be as good as the weekend just passed.

Looking into whether I should fix or not and am confused.  Currently on December 23, in NW England.

On the website it says for me my current tariff.

    Unit rates
    Electricity: 24.32p per kWh
    Gas: 5.93p per kWh

What are these figures?  I assumed they were the last monthly average, but checking my bill, I was only billed 20.55p/kwh and 5.00p/kwh for October, which seems very low, and lower than I would have expected, because I follow

I know there's a slight regional difference but didn't think it was that big.

My quote is for 24.06p/5.79p which seemed like a good deal but now not so sure.

I suspect that the rate displayed for Tracker is the price in effect for today.
Comparing the price given on the Octopus site and the rate I'm paying today, the numbers match.

Does the 5.00p I was billed for in October seem oddly low?  Has the gas price gone up by nearly 1p in a month?

The 5p looks about right for October. The last week or so was a little higher.
