There will tend to be less demand on the grid over the festive period. Whether that will translate into low rates is uncertain. If you are switching to a fix, then there is some opportunity cost to waiting because current offers may be pulled and replaced with higher ones, but if considering a switch to Agile then it isn't likely to see a formula change in the short term.

To switch or not to switch ..?  I suppose this depends on whether you / we think 24/25 is going to mirror the peak followed by a drop of 12 months ago. $10 K for the answer.
    yes, no, maybe. $10k please.

I've gone for that fix.  Seeing gas hit 6p on daily rates has made me think it's not worth staying on anymore for me.

I fixed a couple of days ago (gas tracker).

My gas tracker runs until early January, the fix starts date is delayed until after the gas tracker fix ends.

Which means I locked in a price before it went up (it seems! Lucky timing!) and I won't be exiting tracker early - so won't have the 9 months issue.

And the new fix has no exit fees. Seems to be a no-brainer.

Seems the best option really. October 2024 tracker doesn't look good compared to my Dec 2023 one. Plus it might have another recalculation - I assume there will be a December 2024 tracker variant.
PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)

Hi folks, anyone know if you get a notification from Octopus when you’re about to be moved to a different version of the Tracker tariff?

I’m currently on Dec 23 v1 which seems to be remaining better value than any fix. But from prior comments back in September I understand I’ll be shifted off this tariff at some point?

Just want to plan in advance if I can rather than be caught out 🙂
  • Same here. I think the home page on the web site says when (y)our tariff is due to finish, at which point you get shifted. Or choose your option

They send an email when your tariff is due to end. Then you need to contact them to go on the latest version of Tracker (more expensive) or you can opt for a fix. If you do nothing they will put you on the flexible rate. Your end date should be on your bills and your app.
