Octopus Tracker

hi matt my tracker also came to an end and jumped on agile and took a fix for the gas (5.52p kwh), its been more or less same price as the original tracker, well worth jumping on if you can keep off the 4-7pm slots1
-
It will be a more expensive version - they keep ratcheting it up to bolster their enormous profits - but how much more is difficult to assess on a generalised basis. Maybe someone out there has some sort of spreadsheet that could help?Matt17 said:Had an email that been on Tracker for almost 12months and to let them know if want to stay on it otherwise it will default back to Flexible Octopus. If I elect to stay with Tracker will it be a more expensive version than now and would anyone care to offer any advice on what they would do, thanksWhen mine finishes at the end of March, I’m very unlikely to renew it, and Agile isn’t of much interest given our gas usage.1 -
By seeing out fixed term period you can go back on tracker at any time ( 9 month wait does not apply) I would not go back on tracker either fuel until such time as it significantly cheaper than other tariffs with no exit fees, not just compared with SVR.Matt17 said:Had an email that been on Tracker for almost 12months and to let them know if want to stay on it otherwise it will default back to Flexible Octopus. Being as Agile is electricity only tariff I think the big Q is what does Agile have to do with your gas usage ???Doc_N said:Matt17 said:Had an email that been on Tracker for almost 12months and to let them know if want to stay on it otherwise it will default back to Flexible Octopus. If you stay with Tracker and your current Tracker ends before end of Dec 24 then likely you will be moved to the Oct 24 version which is around 8% more expensive for Gas and 10% for Electric than the Dec 23 version according to my calcs.Matt17 said:Had an email that been on Tracker for almost 12months and to let them know if want to stay on it otherwise it will default back to Flexible Octopus. If I elect to stay with Tracker will it be a more expensive version than now and would anyone care to offer any advice on what they would do, thanksMy Electric ends at end of Dec 24 so that's version I'd be moved to and it's not looking so great so am considering the options. However, if , as has been said above, you let it lapse then you don't have to wait the 9 months to come back on I might wait to the end so that option is available should Tracker get more inviting again. Gas doesn't expire until mid Feb so that adds a further complication as to what to do.1 -
You’ve missed the point. It’s precisely because Agile is only for electricity that our high gas usage and low electricity usage makes it of little interest.bristolleedsfan said:

Higher than my normal usage, if I have still missed the point maybe you could enlighten me.Doc_N said:

It’s not clear what point you’re trying to make, but whatever it is you can have it. Arguments about semantics don’t tend to achieve much, and don’t interest me in a thread about power tariffs.bristolleedsfan said:

Octopus vs non- Octopus (e.g. So Energy Tulip). Fixed or variable. Tracker or Agile. Gas or electric. Room for misunderstandings.
I'd be reluctant to switch to Agile elec in the middle of winter (Mid Feb). Tracker latest version might be the least worst option for both fuels during the winter "peak" (???)
Is it true that under certain circs you don't have to wait 9 months before rejoining Tracker after leaving?Telegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know1 -
I looked at Tracker vs Flexible the other day and they only differed by 1p per week for me - Agile was 15% less (all excluding SCs).Telegraph_Sam said:Octopus vs non- Octopus (e.g. So Energy Tulip). Fixed or variable. Tracker or Agile. Gas or electric. Room for misunderstandings.
