So far, tracker has has been cheaper than the svr, yes it's gone up a bit, but so has the svr.
I could fix, but currently riding tracker and hoping that prices come down a bit in January.Telegraph Sam

December 2023 version, N Scotland, has been nudging up to SVR. Exceeded it one day in September, but not quite after that.0

Plus after every price change I Google the svr gas rate for my area. Therefore I know if it's under or above SVR on any particular day (so far, it's always been under).
Then for longer term predictions, I keep an eye on what Martin Lewis is saying.PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)0 -
Likewise I get daily gastracker emails which is very convenient. And their website gives (me) a quick visual update on whether the current rate is just a blip or likely to be above or over the SVR historical rate for any length of time. Medium term since I have doubts whether anyone's (including ML's) crystal ball can handle long term predictions which unfortunately is what it is all about.

It ought to be possible to get Compare to include one or two of the best fixed rates in their comparison with Tracker ( or Agile). Of what is available which are the best ones for comparison?Telegraph Sam

(not in answer to the above question, just a general comment about Tracker) Agile and Dec 23 Tracker are now roughly on par for us at the moment, some days Tracker slightly more expensive and other days Agile slightly more expensive. But compared with October 24 Tracker, Agile is consistently cheaper. And just one day more expensive than SVT, so far. (This is with no load shifting beyond the little we do for cheap days on Tracker. Brainpower wise I do need something that's pretty close to 'set and forget', but I like the idea of having the option to make use of cheaper days if we can/want to.)
So it'll be interesting to see how Jan 25 Tracker compares, for February when we're booted off the Dec 23 version.2 -

Agile Dec 2023, Agile April 2024 and Agile October 2024.

My guess is Agile Dec 23 as that's what I'm on and finding when I compare against Tracker Dec 23.
We load shift the dishwasher, pick and choose laundry as best we can but cook whenever we need to; as a family of four inc 2 teenagers, we're not a slave to Agile
I quite enjoy seeing what the rates for Agile will be as I have the time and a patient wife to play the game somewhat0
