    Crystal ball question....
Currently on Dec 2023 v1 GAS tracker which is due to end in Feb 2025, it will end as I do not have a smart meter so will get kicked off tariff then (please no rants about smart meters) Northern Scotland region 17
    Considering 12M fix Oct 24 V2 at 5.74p (EDITED FROM 5.47p) kwh/ 29.71p SC (approx £684/ yr)
Today tracker is 5.03p kwh/ 27.47p SC (approx £604/ yr)
Obviously the tracker is better value today, but wondering if I should stay or fix, bit concerned about the middle east situation and where we will be come February.
    Any thoughts?

I'm sure Octopus would be only too pleased to flog you a smart meter.
My gut feel is to stay on Tracker G + E till nearer mid Feb = postpone the decision!

I'm in a similar position and staying with Tracker. But only on the basis that there's a get out clause to the capped price if oil goes through the roof and gas follows. It's impossible to predict the future, though, and my decision is every bit as likely to prove wrong as right.

Either you are quoting kWh rate from a version NLA or you have written numbers the wrong way around -

    Gas
    • Unit rate:5.74 p/kWh
    • Standing charge:29.71 p/day

I'm considering jumping ship to Flux. During the summer we use so little the unit price almost doesn't matter, but when consumption exceeds generation it would be nice to have a cheap rate to charge the battery.

OOPS! I must have looked at my notepad as the 5.47p was for new tracker rates, it was written above the 12month FIX I was looking at. I will amend my post! I did do my calculations correct on my notebook though :)

I'm leaning to this as well...can jump ship later, will keep an eye on it. I've not been on Tracker for Electric but have just moved it Octo and fixed it as that is less than flexible.

My online account is showing today's electricity UR as the same as yesterday's, despite a drop in the wholesale DA price (from yesterday, on Nordpool) such that today's UR should be 1.3p/kWh lower...? Anyone else?

Octoprice website (for example) shows the same thing i.e. same URs for both days.

Nordpool's wholesale DA for the 8th was 89.48, and 79.11 for the 9th...?
Yes. BL price from yesterdays auction for today was 79.11, this should have worked out to 21p today for me in NScot. The app is showing 22.31p though, same as previous day (89.48p BL price correctly converted to 22.31p)

Todays auction result was 73.18 so tomorrow should be 20.26p, we shall see...
Apparently Octopus has a problem receiving prices so as per the rules that say if they don't have a rate for next day by 10pm, they use the same price again. They have just now given the same rate for tomorrow's elec price as today. Agile is not affected.

is there any indication that they then apply what the prices should have been when this issue is sorted out?
