~25p SVT here in Eastern, Tracker Dec 23 is just above 24p tomorrow.  We still haven't gone above SVT at all, to my recollection.  (Though Oct 24 Tracker is 26p.)

Since joining the Tracker roller coaster at the end of January this year, my average has been Electricity 19.246p Gas 4.304p - Q reasonable saving over SVR, so I'm not complaining. If I keep usage down, I can weather a peak or two at a higher rate. Will just have to say no to Sis when she wants to charge her car up.

Without nit picking I don't think there was ever a time when my Dec 2013 v 1 NE actually went above the SVT, so there is precious little rough to get worked up about. It could be a different matter though if we get into comparing ourselves with the currently available crop of fixed rates. Apples & pears.
My understanding is that it doesn't really make any difference when your Sis charges the car up - as long as she picks the right day (!)

Unless ..  you are into "exporting" where the timing  is  vastly complex and I could foresee your Sis taking the bus for lack of battery charge

Would be OK if she paid for the leccy she uses....

Same for N Scotland. Today Tracker is 24.22p/kWh vs SVT at 24.96. It brushed up against it early September but again didn't quite exceed it. Our September average was 21.05 inc VAT.
  • Is there any kind of a "link" between SVT and Tracker price, or are they totally independent of each other in practice?

SVT is based on average wholesale prices from the past, while Tracker is based on present wholesale prices. The former evidently having more margin baked in than the latter... so far at least.
