I was about to substitute "Florida" in place of NE England when an update came through for the local BBC forecast: 15,852. I defy anyone to beat that - whatever unit of measurement is chosen.crumpet_man said:

By rights those who have endured hurricane force wind speeds should be compensated with low(er) kWh unit prices as a result of lower generating costs from inland wind farms.Telegraph Sam

Do you have much choice or is it not a double whammy Catch 22?
I'll be interested to see how the past few days are handled in the Tracker (and Agile) accounts.

Tomorrows rate the highest I have ever seen it. Should be some respite from Tuesday onwards as the wind picks up again.2

It looks like us in the North East on Dec 2023 v 1 are maxing out just now @ 22.54 / 22.55 p I think including SC's. That looks like a fraction below our SV on the graph, in figures now 23.19, which has got to be the ultimate short term yardstick. I'm not aware of us actually exceeding the SV daily though there have been some near misses in the past. Of course taking the average over a longer time period(s) is the more meaningful statistic and on this we are quids in.Telegraph Sam
