To anyone who uses Oct Compare regularly
I use this to compare Tracker Dec 23 with Agile April 24. The following seems to have got itself embedded;
The yesterday, week and month views, graphs and tables, are "normal". However, if under "Year" I compare the graph lines and the table values, the two are juxtaposed: The graph shows typically that for example Agile (for me) is cheaper but the tables show that Tracker has been the better deal. Or v.v. The people behind Compare M4 can't account for this - or at least cannot replicate it.
Can anyone else report the same findings? Some patterns are easier to interpret than others. The anomaly may be more visible under for example "month" rather than "year".Telegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0 -
looking a very low flat line for "wind" in the coming week,so probably around the 20p mark all week. lets hope the Gas trend keeps heading back downwards after the relative high of the last couple of weeks.
wonder if its too much to hope for a mild breezy Autumn/winter again? Feb25 is going to see some interesting chats on here.

I'd be interested to hear the forum's views on the attractiveness of the current crop of fixed deals (Brit Gas) vs Tracker as Feb 25 approaches.Telegraph Sam

British Gas - 12 month fix - no exit fee if change to another B.G fixed tariffUnit rate23.185p per kWh (inc. VAT)Standing charge 55.663p per day (inc. VAT) Just under £50 per year less than Octo SC
Gas is 6.5p ish per day less than Octo SC, individuals would have to do own sums to see whether lower SC/higher unit rate better for them - Unit rate 6.224p per kWh (inc. VAT) - Octo fix 5.67 p/kWh - Tracker today - 5.13 p/kWh
Tracker current version todayElectricity
- Unit rate:21.28 p/kWh
- Standing charge:69.14 p/day
British Gas currently offer £75 Amazon refer a friend dual fuel/ £35 single fuel
Octo - energy insights page near top, seeking feedback, what would make page look better - yesterday i said lower standing charges lol2 -

Export rate is the same at 15p.
The question is, how much hassle would you get dealing with BG, especially getting export moved over?

nice drop in gas for tomorrow, shame we cant store it
Northeast original tracker till mid nov, tomorrow 4.18p for gas0 -
Short term wholesale gas prices dropped like a stone yesterday lunchtime. I'm not altogether sure I understand why. Closed down 6 - 7 % on the day. Up 3 - 4 % so far this morning.1

a sad day for me this is where i say goodbye to tracker V3 for at least 9 months and its saved me £000s in 11 mths
my contract is up in nov and a fix is on offer for 15mths at 5.52p KW for gas ive decided to take it
also i could have kept the tracker going till nov but decided to try out agile, again my SC is going to jump up overnight which was going to happen anyway at the end of the current contract
this thread has been great with the fab people in here
will keep an eye on it and hope tracker can make a come back3 -
The heat is on from all sides to encourage people to switch to a fixed rate and "escape" the 10% price increase. I have assumed that different rules apply to Tracker-s. Am I living in a fool's paradise (by doing nothing)?Telegraph Sam
