I have what I think are your two charts in front of me. Confusingly they don't distinguish in the titles between export and import and I am left to guess which is which from the profile (I tend not to export at night time ..). My main gripe is that these give just a visual representation of my consumption and export. What is missing is what I would call an "account" showing what has been "paid" in and what "taken out". This should tally with my reported readings. I can't see any actual values at all - though I have just now seen that you can hover over one or other of the blocks and get a pop up kWh value for the day or week. But this strikes me as too hitty missy when it is hardly rocket science to record these values in an Excel account or whatever.
PS If there is a toggle that converts kWh - as is shown - to £££, then it must be very well concealed.
Unless I have missed something that you know and I don't, and you point it out, I will take it up with Octopus.Telegraph Sam

You should be seeing two electricity charts - one showing 'Electricity usage' at the top right, and the other showing 'Electricity export'. Each with a toggle between £ and kWh.
Having said that, it's only relatively recently that you applied, and they may still be working on it. Mine took well over a year - and a formal complaint to the Energy Ombudsman.0 -
I suspect that that is the same info but "formatted" differently - without the labels and without the toggle. I may have to follow your steps to HMG OmbundsmanTelegraph Sam

That is not the same as mine for the reasons stated.
I am surprised that your export is so much higher than your import. ££'s or kWh's should make no difference.Telegraph Sam

Same as mine. The "usage" and "export" are not particularly conspicuous, but are there. There won't be a net graph showing export minus import, because that's not how it's metered or bill/credited.0

I sincerely hope that your experience with this switch is better than mine. I raised three complaints in the end, over a period of more than a year, because they seemed incapable of putting Outgoing Fixed into effect. The last of those was to the CEO, but even that fizzled out after a short time, and the only conclusion I could reach was that they had no idea how to do it. There seemed no other explanation, because my situation is extremely straightforward. No obviously complications at all.Telegraph_Sam said:I suspect that that is the same info but "formatted" differently - without the labels and without the toggle. Referral to the Energy Ombudsman can be made after 8 weeks, and that was the only way my case was resolved. The finding was wholly in my favour, with a pretty chunky but entirely justified three figure compensation payment for all the wasted time.I still have no idea why Octopus couldn’t have just sorted it out.0 -
The example of mine is for different weeks export is a full week, the import is for 3 days.Telegraph_Sam said:That is not the same as mine for the reasons stated.

I'm not sure I know where you are in the process. I assume you gave an opening meter reading during the application process. Does that show in your meter reading history? Has Octopus recorded a subsequent reading? If "yes" and "no" you could put in a manual reading.Telegraph_Sam said:I suspect that that is the same info but "formatted" differently - without the labels and without the toggle. Octopus told me that the first export credit needs to be manually actioned at their end. In my case they did so when I phoned but for some reason they took a new reading instead of using the end of month reading they already had. So credited to 9th July instead of to end of June.0 -
I have now put in 2 manual export readings at the same time as my norrmal import readings on 4th of the month. I am keeping a separate Excel record of the readings and what they should equate to in ££' s. Without this I wouldn't have a clue as to what should be in the Outgoing Fixed account which I have yet to "find". The meter reading history is what is shown as the last entry as I am putting in the new one.
For the same Ireason I don't know if Octopus has recorded their own (estimated) readings at any point.
I really don't think that there should be this degree of smoke & mirrors if the system was functioning properly. Can I take it that you have by now arrived at a compromise position that gives you at least some measure of access to your OF account not to say control?Telegraph Sam
