  • Well remembered!  I agree that in summer the contribution of solars should make a measureable difference  - in contrast  to winter for those of us living in northern regions.
It should be certainly possible to do some what-if simulations in  Agile. But these would be academic if there was little prospect of significant actual load shifting in response to short term price movements.  Whereas Compare is telling me that my current profile has generated broadly similar results as is from both tariffs.

When would you expect to see the small print  / T's & C's of Tracker Feb 2025?
They said they would review pricing quarterly, with the last review taking place at the beginning of July, so Tracker Feb 2025 won't be a thing, and presumably a new one will be launched next month and then Jan 2025 if they stick to that plan. The T&Cs don't need to be changed, just the pricing, and that will probably be released on the day the new version launches. So you can put it out of your mind for the rest of the year.

If nothing else the standing charge will change every 3 months now on many of the tariffs now.
  • I was about to say: For "pricing" read standing charges?
Something tells me that it would be prudent to get wise to what all is on offer, pricing etc, from Tracker's competitors (incl Agile) well before my current tariff comes to an end mid Feb 2025.

With talk of costs being moved from the standing charge to the unit rate in order to reduce standing charges, further changes to the formula are also quite likely.
  • Which to me makes rather a mockery of having a 1 year contract if key elements can be altered at will, whether or not technically allowed in the smalll print. Although if done as you predict this should be to the benefit of small consumers?

  • Would you expect the average of Agile prices on any one day to equate to the Tracker price for that day? Or do different wholesale conversion formulas apply? If so I suspect it must be possible to look up said formulas somewhere

Different wholesale prices probably apply.  That would make the most sense anyway.

Not at all, the 12 months fixed are 12 months fixed on that tariff version.  Any changes to standing charges or price formulae are referring to when they bring out new versions.

Different formulae do apply; on this page they now publish the regional variables (hooray!  I'm chuffed to find they do now).

Compare with Tracker and its regional variables

  • That means that on the one hand wholesale prices fluctuate daily as one would expect. But that on the other hand the conversion formulas, and standing charges, remain the same throughout the currency of the one year agreement that I am under the impression that I have signed up to (until Feb 2025)?
