Octopus Tracker

Not for long - the SVR will go up soon and I suspect the prices this week are below what the new SVR will be.
Also - as has been pointed out many times, what you pay on any one day doesn't matter - it's what you pay over the whole year. If you already saved money every day, why worry about one or two days when it's more expensive?1 -
Electricity above SVT tomorrow, for the first time this year for me (now on April 2024 v1).2

I can't follow the logic in Octopus offering me a free period today 1 - 2 pm, at a time when the electricity price is relatively high (such as when there is not a supply surplus)
Compare is putting me on Tracker marginally ahead (that means below) of Agile. Surprising. No EV nor battery storage but with solarsTelegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0 -
It's not high on Agile and that's the indicator of when prices are cheap during the day not tracker.
Tracker could be largely obsolete within a year if Octopus continue to review and add costs to the formula so always worth trying it out now on compare but pretending you are on agile for a few days to see what you can save when tracker is no longer worth the risk.1 -

@mp1995: Yes but if prices are "high" (or low)then that will be reflected in the Tracker daily average price I get charged without me having to look up the hourly Agile price. I believe that both are linked by a formula to the wholesale price. And my Tracker price has been yo-yo'ing between mid range and touching high after a "cheap" interval a some time back. So there is still a question mark why Octopus has chosen today to offer me their freebie ( coinciding with a low consumption period - they are not stupid)Telegraph Sam

I've just seen that my price has dropped from 18..7 = normal) today to 16.4 - which qualifies as low, tomorrow.Telegraph Sam

I see you have ignored my suggestion once again of pretending you are on Agole for a few days, shifting just a little bit and then comparing.

My Compare has been on strike for several days but has today seemed to recover. Whenever possible I compare Tracker with Agile. Taking account of the greater volatility it's telling me that most times I am marginally better off with Tracker, certainly over the longer time periodsTelegraph Sam
