Telegraph_Sam said:I'm not awareof any other missing data, but I don't monitor the gongs on as assiduously as you do. The same message pops up every time I try to get connected, with the date of the previous day's missing data being updated (part of the msg is an instruction to me to check with the Octopus dashboard).
Had this been an occasional short term occurrence I would not have taken up thread space, but it has alll the appearance of becoming a way of life.
"No comparison data available for 23rd Aug 2024. Please try again later. Please check your consumption data is available on the Octopus Energy dashboard and get in contact if the problem persists."0 -
Word perfect. No indication of what to do on the dashboard. Nothing there saying that there was anything wrong. Oherwise the billing system would have gone on strike in sympathy.
I have sent emails to hello@ with no response.Telegraph Sam

I seem to remember that much earlier in this thread someone posted that there was a smart or easy way to check on missing data rather than wait for the bills to arrive. But also that one source did not (then) record Tracker data. Can you say what is the latest on this?Telegraph Sam

On the Compare app, if you select the Week tab instead of Yesterday, it gives a comparison for the latest week up to the last day that data has been collected. At the present time it is showing week commencing Sunday 18th but only goes up to Thursday 22nd as they don't yet have Friday 23rd/Saturday 24th.
If you want just to see when data is missing, this site is great: https://www.octopriceuk.app/missingData
For me it is currently showing data missing as from 01:00 am on 23rd.
You can then check on Octopus website, on the My Energy page, using the Custom tab, select Start date of 23rd August and select Period as half hourly and it will return just the first two half hours usage as no data has been collected since 01:00.
If you select Start date as 24th August, it is saying "Fiddlesticks! It looks like there aren't any readings after the 24th Aug 2024."
As it seems that no-one else has any data for 23rd, hopefully they are just a bit late and it will appear soon.Bob0 -

I usually get the previous day's data at the same time as the upcoming rates. It's got stuck once I think where it didn't publish my data for a couple of days but it's a free app and I have the actual octopus app to go off for usage/cost
This is the tracker thread and the app is really for Agile users. If I had chosen to stick with tracker, I wouldn't keep checking Agile rates, and seeing if I had made the right decision unless I was going to swap

I have sent emails to hello@ with no response. It's worth re-reading the Consumption Data section on Guy Lipman's Octopus guide https://www.guylipman.com/octopus/octopus_guide.htmlWhile some parts are a little out of date now (including his removal of his own data viewer website), it should help set expectations. It is completely normal for the previous day's data not to be available during part of the next day, and once or twice a week data is still unavailable at the end of the next day and appears just before the following day's data when the system 'catches up'. No user intervention is required these days because the system detects missing (whole) days and back-fills these. However, missing half hours are more of a problem and these tend to require manual intervention, which Octopus isn't very willing to do any more, at least for users who they can provide an averaged bill instead. If Octopus has acknowledged a problem affecting data from Tuesday-Friday, and this is also missing from services like Bright, then they probably will address it next week as promised, but it doesn't seem to be affecting everyone. It will be interesting to see if any data comes through for Saturday by the end of today.0 -
