5th July was when Octopus confirmed to me that the transition had been completed. "Completed" may of course be subject to interpretation. I could understand if it took another month for the wheels to turn when my next invoice should be due. Explains my interest in whether anyone in this forum has trod this ground before me.Telegraph Sam

I may be being over pessimistic here, but the last time Octopus told me it was all completed was in March, and that was several months after the switch. Since then, export payments have continued at the old low rate, with a deemed 50% export. No sign of the promised 15p rate. It’s supposedly with the complaints team again now, for the third time, but yet again it’s gone to sleep because, I’m guessing, they have no idea what to do. As soon as the 8 weeks is up it’s off to the Energy Ombudsman, and I’ll be looking for payment of what’s due, along with an appropriate compensation payment for all the hassle caused.Telegraph_Sam said:5th July was when Octopus confirmed to me that the transition had been completed. Yours may go more smoothly - I do hope so.0 -
I rather hope that I don't get stuck in the same way. I have been impressed, up to now, with the service I've had from "Cole H" at their Coventry office, and the assurances that he has provided. But if this turns out to be whistling in the wind I will cancel the positive feedback.
I am not sure when the "8 weeks" starts from but I will be very interested to know the mechanics of getting on to the Ombudsman if it comes to that. I have taken a note of the readings on 15 July so can quote them if they say that they have lost them.Telegraph Sam

Keep records of your readings, and photos as well if possible. Keep notes of any telephone conversations, and if you’re asking any questions make them very specific. That may help if you do find yourself in the same interminable loop that I’m in - and another guy in the same village, who eventually gave up on them.Telegraph_Sam said:I rather hope that I don't get stuck in the same way. Tks 4 the tips. The delays up to 5th July were more the responsibility of Scot Power who were in turn hamstrung by the Regulator. There is an extensive email correspondence trail that I can quote in evidence,Telegraph Sam

It should appear alongside your import tariff like this. Note different MPANs for import and export. This from the web login, not the app, down the bottom of the first page ..Telegraph_Sam said:Can someone shed any light on how the SEG units are credited to and shown on one's Outgoing Fixed account?

On the day of reckoning 5 July my TAI was 8541, and TAE = 7257. Monthly elec meter reading reported @ 8539. Should I expect the readings to somehow be zeroed at the beginning of the new Outgoing Fixed contract? I don't know where the TAI and TAE figures came from.
An announcement has just appeared on my home page alongside the tariffs info: "Export MPAN requested ... a further couple of days". I hope that the few days of "summer" that we have enjoyed this year will not have been forfeited as far as SEG credits are concerned.Telegraph Sam

Both readings would have been zero when the meter was new, and been clocking up ever since. They are never zeroed. The tariff will just start from whatever the reading is on the day.Telegraph_Sam said:On the day of reckoning 5 July my TAI was 8541, and TAE = 7257. Monthly elec meter reading reported @ 8539. Just for reference in my case Ocopus applied for the MPAN on the 10th, received it on the 12th and the tariff was in place from the 15th.An announcement has just appeared on my home page alongside the tariffs info: "Export MPAN requested ... a further couple of days".1 -
As I said the official notification of my Outgoing Fixed account has appeared on the website as you predicted. Wait a few more days will something appear, somewhere, with the (TAEx) running total that I can tally with my meter? If so would you have a screenshot of yours showing the location?
I'll be. interested to see if the start has been backdated or if the past several days will be "lost" depending on when the tariff was/is in place..Telegraph Sam

Nowadays the Octopus Web page doesn't show meter reading history, but if you select the option to submit a manual reading you'll see options to submit either "export reading" or "electricity reading". If you select either it will also show the last recorded reading.
