Exactly that. All those readings from the different registers on the meter make more sense in context.Telegraph_Sam said:pete-20-11 said:Maybe the way to remember it is...
Import. IN. Into house.
Export. EX. Was your electricity, but now belongs to the grid. 🤣
I ought to be able to sus it out if I take a few successive TAI / TAE readings myself.0 -
The "Import" readings should match the readings on your bills.0

I hope someone can tell me how to "interpret" the following from my smart meter
5 July TA Export 7257, TA Import 8541
7 July TA Export 7276, TA Import 8553
Registers 1 - 4 blank.
My switch will have been too recent to show up on my Octopus page.
Does this relate to my grid consumption "positive"? Or "negative"? Or to my solar? Or both?
No batteries.
My FIT generation should continue with Scot Power, it is just the export that has been switched to Octopus.
Not for the faint-hearted.Telegraph Sam

You used, and will be billed for 8553-8541 = 12kWh from the gridTelegraph_Sam said:I hope someone can tell me how to "interpret" the following from my smart meter

You exported, and would have been credited for 7276-7257 = 19kWh sent to the grid
Did you note readings from the generation (FIT) meter as well?

Tks.
And I noted down everything in sight incl FIT's on 5th July in anticipation of what might appear on my webpage.Telegraph Sam

Can someone shed any light on how the SEG units are credited to and shown on one's Outgoing Fixed account? I don't see any box on the Octopus website that could contain this data so I assume I have to wait in ignorance until my next bill is published where this will appear as a credit.

On my account it shows on the energy page. It shows daily reading underneath the electricity used chart. In the app it shows usage and value in GBP.Telegraph_Sam said:Can someone shed any light on how the SEG units are credited to and shown on one's Outgoing Fixed account? That gives me grounds for hope. The system probably needs time to get started.
Up to now I have always been unclear about "the app". I don't think that I have downloaded it (?). If it is helpful can you direct me to it or say how to get it.Telegraph Sam

I have just looked at the My Energy page on the web site. As you would expect it shows just energy used to date.Telegraph Sam

I think you may be being a little optimistic about the time Octopus take to start paying the export payments. When did you make the move to Outgoing Fixed?Telegraph_Sam said:I have just looked at the My Energy page on the web site. As you would expect it shows just energy used to date.0
