I'm currently with EON Next variable (no smart meter). I use about 4100 kw per year and pay approx £1400. I'm not sure if this is for me or not. Electric only. Washing Machine used once a day from 10pm

Based on the average I paid last month (17.72p - Eastern region), 4100kWh would cost around £920 for the year. You would need to look at the rates & standing charges for your area and do the sums. But for me, there is a significant saving to be had on Tracker. When the unit price climbs, I can reduce my consumption slightly.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

Am I right in saying that new sign ups will be on an April 2024 tracker where the standing charges are higher but daily rates are the same as the Dec ‘23 formula?
New sign-ups will be on April 2024 v1, but the URs have also increased.

Pre/Post 10 a.m. 3rd April formulae can be found in the Tracker FAQ:

this weekend is looking like a real freebie for electric, anyone having a guess how low it will go
i'm going for about 6p kw, washer is getting a service wash at 90c for sure
well, just under 10p for tomorrow. i dont think 6p is even possible on the newer formula.
    9.04p/kWh for me (on Tracker v2) - On April 2024 v1, it would be 12.53p/kWh!  :o

10.44p on Dec 23 Tracker here. Expect those on Agile will be treated to some prolonged negative pricing.

...and on the old Nov22 tariff it'd have been about 7.9p
Are you sure? Tracker v2 (available for around 2 weeks in April 22) pre-dates Nov 22, and IIRC, there weren't any formula changes? Are you referring to a different (cheaper) energy region?

i'm basing it on when we were moved to the new rate in Feb the increase on electric was around 2.1p per unit. so my rate tomorrow of 9.98 would have been 7.88. of course i may be completely wrong but i thought the formula change added 2.1 to electric and 0.4 to gas. february is a long time ago in my life so nothing i say is gospel :p

love the tariff but this smoothing out of the daily use is annoying. iv'e had electric on occasions, gas on occasions and this month both are smoothed out. it doesn't add up to much but using cheap leccy days is pointless.

You could submit a reading tomorrow and Sunday to capture your actual use tomorrow.
