Thanks all, I have emails Octopus to transfer me to elec - Agile and Gas Tracker.  I keep updated on how long it takes.
I got confirmation email I was switched on Saturday, but on app the tariff still showed flexible. I went to twitter and message them yesterday and they saying Gas been switched to tracker but electric- they say "we need to connect to yr smart meter , at the moment it looks like we struggling to connect yr electric , so im going to run some checks on meter and get back to you with next steps"

Any idea why the electric not connecting?, I been smart many years , was with shell then taken over from octupus?  i have notice previously that electric usage not been showing on the app after i was switched over to octupus
We were the same - went with shell installed smart meters to 🐙. Took them an absolute age and we ended up having to have 🐙 smart meters installed (less than 1 year after we’d had the shell meters installed).  Turns out shell installer had recorded an incorrect number somewhere. Was frustrating and took
    months to sort

Mortgage freedom January 2024 - paid off 7 years early by making overpayments where we could.

New version of Tracker - April 2024 v1, with another formula change (more expensive!) and increased SCs (same as SVT) - Octopus seems determined to make Tracker ever less attractive...

I wonder why the change so soon after the previous update. Oh well, I'm fixed to Dec 23 rates until next year. I will have to see if this update is enough to push me off to Agile, or if there will be changes afoot there as well...

ive just had my gas statement for march and been avg out, NOT happy in the least
awaiting for electric statement, is it worth contacting octopus?
Had the same happen with my last gas bill. Did raise a query and they said "if there are gaps in the smart meter readings, we average over the month". As a low gas user, the difference is likely to be just a £1 or £2, so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

Her courage will change the world.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

According to the (also changed/updated) FAQ:

'We review the Tracker formula and standing charge every three months, each time the energy price cap updates, to make sure Tracker prices fairly reflect things like taxes and levies, network maintenance and meter rental, as well as energy regulation.'

Make of that what you will...

They probably want to stop it being loss making, now it's been so widely publicised and indeed promoted as a sure fire money saver.

It's not 'loss making'. You can see your use/billed/costs in the graphs and it averages out over time. If you've been on it a few years as I have you'll see quite long runs where what you were billed for is a lot higher than costs (and obviously sometimes vice versa). Most of the time it's covered anyway.

What does avg out mean? I have only been on tracker for a month and just had my first full bill and trying to understand it.

Average in this context means they take your monthly total and assign it day by day using some secret formula. Then each day is billed at the appropriate price.

Instead of using each day's actual consumption. So averaging can cancel out any special saving you might have made say by choosing a really cheap day to do the laundry.

I'm only aware of it happening to us once, when i noticed we'd been billed for consumption during a two day power cut.
