I get an alert from Home Assistant as soon as the "next rate" field is updated. 

Using the octopus mini to get the data into HA.

update, had a cut this morning and came back on, now northernpowergrid had to isolate a few more houses to finish off the repair from this morning, expected connection 12.30am

and this where part of your standing charge goes i take it, engineers working on a sat night, there mrs be smiling

another update, reconnection time now pushed back to 3.30am, northernpowergrid vans bottom of my street working in crap weather on weekend nightshift, 148 house out

I got confirmation email I was switched on Saturday, but on app the tariff still showed flexible. I went to twitter and message them yesterday and they saying Gas been switched to tracker but electric- they say "we need to connect to yr smart meter , at the moment it looks like we struggling to connect yr electric , so im going to run some checks on meter and get back to you with next steps"   

Any idea why the electric not connecting?, I been smart many years , was with shell then taken over from octupus?  i have notice previously that electric usage not been showing on the app after i was switched over to octupus

We were the same - went with shell installed smart meters to 🐙. Took them an absolute age and we ended up having to have 🐙 smart meters installed (less than 1 year after we’d had the shell meters installed).  Turns out shell installer had recorded an incorrect number somewhere. Was frustrating and took
months to sort

Gosh I hope mine dont take months, missing out on Agile Cheap electric prices at the mo. thanks for info.

i prob will look at agile when my contract is up in nov, im still on V3 original tariff

btw what is the sc on the latest agile compared to tracker

Keep an eye on world events. The gas (and separately from Tracker, also oil) price looks as if it is on a upward trend and it has nothing to do with the weather.

I've noticed that petrol and diesel seem to be creeping back up again.

ive now noticed with octopus with the free drink at greggs octopus also now offering a free drink at caffe nero aswell

Apparently you have to choose either Greggs or Cafe Nero. I chose the latter cos you can have hot or cold and any size.
