Octopus Tracker

Since I posted that comment, prices have fallen again! Though looking a bit firmer again today. I suspect we will get a further update before long, and maybe the expected fall in the July price cap will be trimmed a little, but we should still see a decent reduction. Beyond that, no one knows. All we can say is that last year, wholesale prices for six months and more ahead were much higher than they actually turned out when we got nearer to the time, which is why Octopus's Tracker and Agile tariffs turned out to be such good deals. But that is just one year, and another could turn out very different.xflare said:spot1034 said:
The Cornwall Insight price cap forecast now looks out of date. There's still a probable reduction coming in July but higher prices in the final weeks of the assessment period are likely to trim it from earlier levels, and prices for later in the year are now 20% higher than they were at the time of the last prediction a few weeks ago. Nothing is baked in until we get into the assessment period for each quarter, but the provisional estimates for Q4 and Q1 next year are surely going to be higher at the next CI update.tghe-retford said:

Bad weather approaching?
Keep a keen eye on the prices. The increases seem to be accelerating, particularly today.
hmm that's not good news, I wonder if it maybe a good idea to be looking at fixed tariff offers again.0 -
Why do you think they are giving out 'perks' instead of just reducing bills? 🤔northernstar007 said:also from today lots new offers on rewards 25% off at toby, harvster, stonehouse, ember inns and sizzling pubs

Perks cost them nothing, or practically nothing. Reducing bills hits their vast profits!stripling said:

I need some help from longer term Tracker people please.
Last year when it came to renewal did people have Tracker V1/V2 or whatever tariffs rolled over for another year?0 -
I'm not quite that long term but our first tariff was July 2022, renewal in August last year was onto the current version available at that time (November 2022 I believe).stripling said:I need some help from longer term Tracker people please.

Please keep these coming - I remember a few people being rolled over - it would help to hear if others were either a) rolled over; or b) put on a new tariff that was current at the time.stripling said:I need some help from longer term Tracker people please.

I fought to stay on Nov 22 until the end of my term (June). I no longer receive a daily rate and haven’t had a bill for 2 months. It has also backfired somewhat because I will have to go on the April 2024 tariff when it ends. I wish they had offered me December 2023 plus compensation as they did for some.1

I was on V2 from April 2022 until very recently when I was moved to the current version.stripling said:

They did offer you the Dec 23 tariff. Then they gave you what you asked for. Those who asked for compensation largely jumped ship for Agile. That's an avenue that's open to you if you wish to lock in the benefit you got for the extra time on Nov 22.Griffindog said:I fought to stay on Nov 22 until the end of my term (June).
