I suspect Octopus are not setup to be used as a cashback bank from those running that scenario. It all adds overhead?
Especially with their sudden growth a wheel may have fallen off lol.0 -
Im not unduly worried, but normally my bills are generated on the 6th of each month, with data up to the 4th for each month, now on the 11th and still no bill generated, anyone else experiencing the same?0

I can understand if a reader loses out as a result of averaging being applied whereas the intention had been to load shift and skew the consumption onto an economical time slot. Other than that is there any evidence of a "loss" due to a malfunction of the invoicing system? Or for that matter a "win" from the system not recording - missing - actual consumption? I confess to taking Octopus' price and quantity charges at face value and as a result being unaware of any hidden glitches.
In my case I don't get particularly steamed up over invoice delays. And my earnings from Octopus points are minute anywayTelegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0 -

I've not been invoiced for a few days at the start of last month; my electric usage on my invoice starts part way through the month. I suspect there's been some finger trouble when I switched from Tracker to Agile. It's only about £8 worth so not worth getting bent out of shape for. I suspect they may spot it at some point and sort it out.

"How do you calculate daily consumption for billing?
When we calculate your bill, we try to use your actual consumption for each day from your smart meter, in order to get a correctly weighted average price for the billing period. If this isn't possible (for example, if we are missing some consumption data), we will use your total consumption over the billing period, and allocate it to days based on industry coefficients that reflect actual weather. We are unlikely to be able to recalculate your bill, even if we later receive your actual consumption data, as re-billing is just as likely to increase charges for a customer as reduce them, and time-consuming, when our priority is on minimising the cost of this tariff, and makes bills harder to comprehend and follow for customers"
I have been getting gaps in gas data, of a few days at a time, ever since I joined tracker. I have been discussing this with Octopus by email for about 4 months but they have yet to come up with any reason why this happens or offer a solution but have mostly been able to "find" the missing data. My latest email has been escalated to be a "complaint".It is perhaps interesting to note that, for the last two "missing periods", one in February and one in March, there is no cubic meter data showing in my on-line account but now that I am connected up with an Octopus Mini, kWh data has been recorded in the App for these periods. This is because the mini takes the data direct from the meters whereas the on-line data is collected via the DCC. BUT Octopus only use DCC data to produce the bills and so have still used the above spreading method for my February bill despite having the actual kWh from the App.
