I’d strongly consider taking a 20p/kWh electric fix over summer in place of Agile. That’s only a little above the off-peak rate I had during summer last year where I still managed a 10% saving over SVT, and not having to consider peak times is always a nice bonus.MultiFuelBurner said:I wonder how many people would take a fix at say 20p kWh for electricity and 5p kWh for gas that are on tracker and agile now come summertime if a supplier was brave enough to offer that.Agile so far has far proven itself over my previous fix and is still going strong above tracker with no practical changes to my energy use lifestyle, so I suppose it would come down to what sort of Agile prices the summer brings as opposed to how attractive the fixes are for me.Moo…0 -
It's worth noting that the Government's long-term wholesale electricity price forecast is for it to remain around £50-60 per MWh in 2023 money. Sure we might see fluctuations above and below that, but huge swings (the COVID slump and Ukraine surge) are the exception not the norm.masonic said:I'm not aware of any forecasts for wholesale electricity prices falling from current (~£50/MWh) level, although that would be welcome.

Take that into account in any what-if simulation if that is doableTelegraph Sam

I found the Octopus Compare app and it reports for the three months December to Feburary
Usage 570kWh
Tracker £140
Agile £120
based on my usage.
I was surprised that Agile is that much below Tracker. Presumably that means (since I don't use electricity for heating) that Agile will always be below Tracker for me.
And my current Loyal Octopus September came in much higher at £1900 -

Not at present as I haven't needed to. But I can always do any cooking and washing/drying at cheaper times. And those are presumably the items that use most energy, since heating doesn't enter into it.0

can any 1 help
i'm going through the feb bill and ive been charged avg usage for the gas starts off start of the month 44kw per day and edging down day by day, should i be highlighting this to octopus or is it working in my favour, i am giving readings every month so the amount in total is correct
and will this be every month my previous bill has been exact usage
update i am looking on the app showing my each day usage i'm comparing it to the statement per day and some days im up some days im down big time, as its a meter reading should i twist about this or let it go, i cant complain my avg kw is 3,35p0 -
Receiving an averaged bill usually means there was some smart meter data missing. There's a checking tool on Guy Lipman's sits, I think; does that show you where the gap is?

Sam, for the last 10 pages you've been enquiring about the compare app, it won't hurt you to download it and try it. It's not going to take over your house electricity account......just like a smart meter didn't ruin your whole life when you eventually succumbed to getting one! Just go for it and try it, I'm sure you'll like it.Telegraph_Sam said:Any load shifting?0 -
