I don't know what happens when you apply to join Tracker, but are ineligible. I'd guess they'd tell you that you have to wait until you are eligible and reapply then.Telegraph_Sam said:I suppose it comes down to the definition of "join". I could join in 9 months' time as normal if I was not in Tracker. Or I could apply now to re-join in 9 months' time if barred by the system from joining sooner. The T's and C's could be the same or different. I can see this going to the Supreme Court.

Seems to me you are complicating something that's really quite simple. I left tracker (electric) on 21 Feb 2024 therefore I can't rejoin until 21 Nov 2024. If I choose to rejoin on or after that date I expect to be on the Tracker terms and conditions that apply at that time. QEDTelegraph_Sam said:I suppose it comes down to the definition of "join". After being on tracker from since v2, i've finally taken the leap to agile. Just makes sense after the price rise. I don't have battery storage but will load shift the main appliances, and having an EV, the prices charging 1-2 times a week overnight will make great savings compared to the new tracker rates.
It was a great tracker ride for the last few years!!2 -
Hypothetical case: If you could not shift much load and didn't have an EV, would you still have done the switch?Telegraph Sam

Totally depends on ones usage sam.Telegraph_Sam said:Hypothetical case: If you could not shift much load and didn't have an EV, would you still have done the switch?
In my usage scenario, with the latest tracker tariff, even without loads hitting and ev charging, agile would provide a marginal saving.....but you'd have to assess if that saving was worth it for you. I'd prob stick to tracker if the potential saving was only a few quid. However for me the saving will be more so am going to give agile a good go. We only use 1-2kw during the peak hours so should be OK.0 -
Personally no, the days I don’t charge my EV, I only use 3kw and it works out within a few pennies on Agile vs Tracker so it wouldn’t be worth it in my view for my usageTelegraph_Sam said:Hypothetical case: If you could not shift much load and didn't have an EV, would you still have done the switch?0 -

I cannot switch much daily use, besides looking at the best time to have a shower. I don't have an EV or any such. I switched and am glad I did.

This is where I am, no solar, no EV and the chances of the wife load shifting, ha!Telegraph_Sam said:Hypothetical case: If you could not shift much load and didn't have an EV, would you still have done the switch?
Old (November) Tracker formula ends for us in a couple of days. Octopus Compare app shows that based on last months usage, December Agile works out at just over £5 cheaper than the new December Tracker - both of which obviously more expensive than our current version of Tracker. Elec usage should really drop from now on so I may give it a few more weeks before deciding.

Is the proper download source of the Compare app Google Play rather than the Octopus website?Telegraph Sam

If this prints out the way it is displays on my screen it could be taken as "evidence" that Tracker is more competitive / Agile is less competitive when prices are high such as a year ago, and vice versa
