From what I can see all standing charges are currently 52.31p for electric - I think that was what I was paying on Flexible before switching to Fixed Loyal which is what I am paying now. Checking out the Octopus Compare app it seems that Tracker is the same rate too.
The Octopus fixes have already changed in the last 24 hours to reflect the higher standing charges but Tracker is still unchanged from Dec 23 version at the moment.

    What region are you?
Thank you. I'm Gloucestershire which seems to come under West Midlands according to Octo-Aid app.
  • Midlands region electric standing charge is currently price capped at  54.36p, rising to 62.73 in April. Octopus are approx 4% below price cap so that gives you the 52.31p currently. If you were on SVR then that would rise to approximately 60p in April
  • The standing charge should stay the same for the duration of your tracker fixed term. Octopus may well introduce a new version of tracker with higher standing charges.
  • ... which would be a factor to consider by those contemplating ducking out of Tracker for the next 9 months (in favour of Agile or whatever) a nd rejoining in the autumn?

I was switched to the Dec 23 v1 Tracker (gas) on 15th Feb but I've noticed it still says fixed term ends 17 June 2024, my end date on the previous version.

Is this right and what everyone else is seeing, or should it now say fixed term ends 15 Feb 2025.

  • Just another example of the inconsistency of Octopus. Yes you should have been given a full year from 15th Feb.

Others are getting the old rate until their previous listed date. So your rate shouldn't change until June.
  • Can anyone else report a "generous" interpretation of a [Nov 22,] end date  and whether this was a fixed term or endless contract?

A small minority going by Facebook groups but it is worth a complaint to force the point of that's what people want to do, some really aren't that bothered.

It's what I and others have done. In the end I accepted a different solution and a goodwill gesture rather than escalating the complaint to the ombudsman.
  • I am with Octopus.  I would like to go on to Tracker.  I have SM2 meters.  My problem is that they intermittantly communicate with Octopus - I think.  I look at my Octopus Dashboard and there are missing days.

However I have been told by Octopus Help that as long as they get readings every 24 hrs  -  no probelem.  When I had a Powercycle I was assured getting every 30 mins though this did not show up on DashBoard.

I am thinking of going with enhanced hub and an ariel to a window - has anybody done this?  Has it improved readings?

I am in Cardiff, not in a remote area, but I do have black (coal dust) mortar (urban myth - does this dampen signal?)

I feel there are going to be a minority of us who are stimied by SM2 not being able to be read so that we cannot apply for the best tarrifs.
