It makes no difference to us, as our charging structure is fixed for the next 12 months. Higher standing charges could eventually catch up with us when we renew or switch.Telegraph_Sam said:With all the statistics being quoted at present, can (most) Tracker (and Agile) users afford to take a "detached" view of the imminent changes? Based on the wholesale prices remaining at roughly present levels at least for the short to medium term, and the fluctuations in prices remaining in line with recent weeks.

Just moved from Tracker to Agile after looking at my reports on Octopus Compare since the price increase. Even without load shifting Agile is now cheaper for my usage patterns.
I actually wonder if this is also part of the reason for the price increase - the prior low Tracker price rendered Agile as a niche tariff for most people as you had to do a lot of load shifting to make it work.0 -

Regional pricing data here. To me this seems not at all competitive with unhedged tariffs like Tracker and I'm left questioning why this is lower than the 15% prediction given where wholesale prices have gone recently. It seems to me wholesale prices would have to go up quite a bit for any of us Tracker customers to pay this much.
electric down 15.94% from 27.79 p/kwh to 23.36 p/kwh . single rate tariff on direct debit .
Northern Region 57.42 to 67.40
Southern Region 49.96 to 63.72
South East 47.57 to 57.40

I still have a few days left on the old Tracker so have a decision to make. It's looking like Agile will work out a little cheaper than the new Tracker based on the last month

With the EPG dropping, is it still worth looking at tracker? We use 4500 kWh a year (bloody marine fish tanks!). So are paying about £30 a week for electricity alone on flexible octopus (about 100kwh a week). Looking at tracker electricity is about 10p per kwh less than flexible, but with today’s announcement that electric will be around 24p per kWh.0

At current prices there is still a considerable saving to be had on either Tracker or Agile. There is no lock-in, so if prices did increase you could leave within a few days.Badboi said:With the EPG dropping, is it still worth looking at tracker? We're Eastern which has gone up since mid December, but even on those ratesl is still under 20p over the average of the last 90 days. If wholesale prices are dropping, Tracker rate will drop.Check out gastracker if you want to get a good idea of historic rates, which of course are not a guarantee of future ones.Only you can decide if you want the certainty of a fix or are prepared to keep an eye on the Tracker rates and move to something else if it no longer suits your appetite for risk.Make £2025 in 2025
