Tracker is significantly better for electricity for me than Agile because when the weather's cold I use it for secondary heating in peak periods so the bulk of my use is at peak rates on cold days. And the savings sessions make it even more worthwhile - Agile hasn't come close for me over the winter.
So I'm sticking with the plan. I'll switch to Agile (or possibly Flux) at the end of the month. That way, I'll have the option of switching back to Tracker next winter, but a lot could happen in that time. Any one of a number of things could send prices higher and the market is constantly changing so there may be other tariffs to choose from.
In the meantime, the parts for my battery upgrade arrived at first light this morning. The additional capacity will open up all kinds of options and possibilities. I'm well on my way to generating enough and making enough from summer exports to pay for winter imports to be free of energy bills forever. The bulk of my heating comes from a wood stove and free firewood.3 -

Have Octopus issued a new Tracker tariff as a result of the changes announced yesterday?
Or is one expected?
I'm just wondering about the risk of signing up today - whether it will be under the previous standing charge or the proposed new standing charge.
I signed up to Loyal Octopus Fixed earlier this week with no exit fees ahead of the price cap change in case it wasn't as good as was forecast, which means I'm protected against the standing charge increase. But since then I've found out about Octopus Tracker, and now wondering whether I should be switching to that instead.0 -

From what I can see all standing charges are currently 52.31p for electric - I think that was what I was paying on Flexible before switching to Fixed Loyal which is what I am paying now. Checking out the Octopus Compare app it seems that Tracker is the same rate too.0 -
