I've been away from here for a week or two. There's a sense of doom, what did I miss? Tariff ending tomorrow? Should I have received an email? Nothing on my account to suggest anything changing, still just says Nov22v1???

There is no change to the Agile formula so I'm not sure what you're referring to, SC changes but that's it.

Is the change to the tracker tariff for existing customers before December effective from midnight tonight or midnight tomorrow night?

I just got an email from gastracker uk saying that my electric rate tomorrow is going down to 16.36p (Merseyside and NW).  That can't be right if I am on the new tariff already tomorrow?
  • Yorkshire hardly affected so the rhetoric from Octopus on a rise of 10-11% isn't actually true that's the average of all regions.
Yes, I'm in Eastern too, and because the price hike is a fixed amount then percentage wise, because of current low rates, the immediate rise is more like 20% for electric in Eastern

I have not said it has? Infact I said it was the original formula?

That is why I am saying for people to check again so if they want to move they don't have the 9 month embargo

    Money saving after all 👍💰💰

I think it was confusing referring to the "original Agile formula" which implies there is at least one  more Agile formula.

A more interesting question would be why Agile hasn't changed. The formula for Tracker is a multiplier plus a fixed amount. The fixed amount should go up each year due to inflation (if nothing else changes). Agile works slightly differently but it still has fixed additional amount's that should go up at some point each year. I get the impression that Agile and Tracker have been such niche tariff's that Octopus have not been keeping on top of the formula's but that they are now putting them both on a more commercial footing going forward. I suspect we will see some changes to Agile in the coming months.

Agile was created after Tracker, so it already reflected at least some of the changes that were not accounted for in the Tracker formula. After the change there is not much between the tariffs for someone with a typical usage profile, whereas before Tracker had a clear advantage.
It seems there are some who have escaped these changes for now, but I suspect Octopus will be moving people over in tranches.
