Have you tried sending manual readings on the 1st?

I actually think I still have our billing date as the 22nd but sending a reading on the 1st forces a bill, and then the app shows monthly usage and cost anyway.
  • thanks for the reply, i did put manual reading in on the 1st dec jan and feb, ive resent octopus a message on twitter, polite but direct

Have you actually spoken with them on the phone? That's how I got mine changed. I think there was one more bill on 7th, which she said would happen, but ever since I asked I'm being billed on 1st.

Try the website, there's an option in the my Account area, under change my payments, then change my payment date?
PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)
  • I think there would be something to be said for having a smart and/or manual reading on 14th for those condemned to moving to the new tariff on 15th

In my last interaction with them, I was also promised a bill just after the end of each month, which was not something I cared about, I had contacted them because I wasn't receiving any bills. Nothing happened to my billing date, but I'm grateful someone finally fixed the non-issuance problem for me.

Has dipped just below the low seen in April 2023 ($1.82 vs $1.96). Would expect prices to fall a bit as the colder weather subsides anyway. Tracker price went down between April and June last year despite international prices rising by 40% over the same period, so don't expect correlation. Perhaps this is a good opportunity for reserves to be topped up, if we still have the storage.
