Gas is 4.19pkWh here in the south today.
I keep hoping that we'll drop below the psychologically-important 4p/kWh level; per the old Tracker formula. 67.6p/therm should become 3.75p/kWh so maybe I'll have a sub-4p weekend!
Not quite 3.75, but just sneaking below 4p!

im paying £100pm by DD, i see i can make 1 off payment using american express card
can i pay my monthly payments using the card instead of DD, as i would get nectar points on my credit card
I have my DD set to £1 and pay the bill each month with an Amex card when received.
    it wont allow me

Have you tried changing it on the website rather than on the app?

i love Octopus and the tracker tariff but i think i'm done "shifting" usage. been on the tariff a year now and iv'e had averaged Gas a couple of times due to "missing data", this week for the 1st time i even have an entire missing day of usage in the octopus app, Tuesday doesn't exist.
more importantly looking back its been the same with electric a couple of times, it was last my latest bill that prompted the check back as i'd specifically "shifted" to use very cheap days but the bill was averaged due to 3 missing half hour readings.
more than happy with the averaged rate but there's no point in shifting unless convenient anyway.

for another check i put in manual meter reads. bill just in for 16 days. Electric "as used" this time, Gas averaged. over the year it's basically hit/miss on both energies as to whether its "as used/averaged".
  • Everyone will be forced to have smart meters eventually so I thought I might as well save/make some money along the way. I have my heating on at 21.5 degrees, pay a lot less than most and still built £1000 in credit last year. 2023 was exceptionally good for Tracker customers.

Wind has to meet higher demand on a weekday. If it had arrived a day earlier we could have got an even better price today. Still, I'm happy to be paying almost half the price of SVT.
