January is shaping up to be a cracking month - 17.17p/kWh for me on average against 28.02p/kWh for SVR. The cold weather has made it an expensive week or so, but I'm still £40.79 better off so far this month on Tracker than I would have been on SVR. I'm sure others have got similar numbers - many even better.

Is this still worth getting in on?
My deal is ending. Same company I am with now is quoting:
6.92 p/kWh (29.60p standing charge) for gas
26.44 p/kWh (50.69p standing charge) for electric

In short, yes, the longer answer is have you researched tracker a lot and know where to look for next day prices.TractorFactor said:Is this still worth getting in on?

Are you with Octopus already and if not ask friends and family for a referral code to earn you £50 and then £50.1 -
about billing, if i am missing data on the app am i billed the FULL month on a avg use and price
im looking at my last bill for the gas i know some days consumption was in the 70s kw, and some days 40s, but on the bill everyday is in mid 40s usage, i know every month there is going to be missing data so i'm not getting the full benefit of cheaper gas and electric on cheap days, some days im holding back washing for a cheaper rate only to find its avg0 -
If it's in your favour say nothing, if it's to your detriment contact Octopus by Tracker and they can attempt to retrieve the missing data and re bill or sometimes they have been known to offer £20 goodwill gesture.northernstar007 said:about billing, if i am missing data on the app am i billed the FULL month on a avg use and price

Others have discussed submitting readings either side of a cheap day when you load-shift. I haven't seen an averaged bill personally, but it was suggested that it would be split up to take each interim reading into account. Probably worth a try while you wait for any missing data issues to be investigated.northernstar007 said:about billing, if i am missing data on the app am i billed the FULL month on a avg use and price

will this make a bill in the middle of billing month, i know most of my days ive been using avg 50kw gas a few days 70s and some 40s kw this is where the avg is coming from, as bella has said do i keep quiet, as it says it is the avg and that should work itself out with high useage days, im just a bit cheesed off thinking im saving washing for cheaper days but all its doing is bringing my whole avg price downmasonic said:

It might. Its for you to figure out whether your high usage corresponds to cheap days or expensive days, but if you are load shifting into the cheap days you'll be losing out from an averaged bill. The way to counteract that is to provide readings before and after those days so that the high usage can only be attributed to the correct day. My experience is that Octopus won't send out a bill for every meter reading you submit, and some have submitted one every day in the past.northernstar007 said:

So, point proven. Octopus did not advise you not to go onto Tracker. They advised you not to choose a fixed tariff if you're considering changing to Tracker at some stage.hubb said:
To quote Octopus via mail
"That's not a problem - Tracker certainly isn't for everyone. At the moment, we've only got the two standard tariffs, Flexible and the fixed, so I would advise staying put if you're looking to get onto Tracker. It wouldn't be worth the exit fee if you know you'll be changing tariffs soon.
If you refuse to believe this then that is your issue I'm afraid.1 -
That's why I've hesitated to mention again that although SVT prices are expected to fall in April, it is only by 14%, which is not going to come close to cancelling out the current difference between Flexible and Tracker. Looking at forecast consumption over the next couple of weeks, this is predicted to decline due to milder conditions, so we could be in for a treat next weekend and beyond.
