Got my latest tracker bill this week - gas usage shown is "smoothed" not actual. That seems to happen about 50% of the time for gas (never for electric). Because the smoothing has allocated more usage than actual in the last couple of mild weeks (and cheap weeks) it's worked in my favour - according to my spreadsheet by about £1.70!1

I've just emailed them before reading these comments.
Switched to Tracker around 3 weeks ago and didn't receive my bill on 16th December as expected. We'll see how it goes.

Sounds like there's some sort of glitch in their bill production system regarding those switching from Agile to Tracker.

Ditto billing from agile to tracker, I'm moving back to Agile at the end of January so I'm not going to bother pursuing a fix4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.0

My billing system seemed to break down at the beginning of the year (2023) with more than one consecutive invoice no-show. I did nothing and in the end it caught up and the missing bills were reinstated. Note that this did NOT involve any tariff change.

My 6 and 12 month Tracker leccy average prices were almost identical @ c. 17.5 p, and only dropped to 12.31 over the past 7 days. Is there any source that would allow some comparison with Agile? At the expense obviously of making a few assumptions about Agile consumption profiles which in reality would be unlikely to be realistic. Just to use as a first benchmark.
I don't have Octopus Compare which might make such comparisons doable?Telegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0 -

just using 24/12 as an example.
i only have the Octopus App and my monthly bills, no other forms of cross checking.
whenever iv'e randomly checked usage/cost on a particular day i have always found it to be accurate. i do check more closely on the bills.
according to the App. i used 13.74kWh of electricity, this was the day that it was 7.77p. the App says i used £1.5462, quite a difference to what is should be. just having a look at some of the recent cheap days and nothing adds up. of course i'll look closely when the bill arrives but is anyone else seeing this difference?
edit. just using a second day 29/12 used 13.36kWh, cost £2.095. unit rate was 12.1p
edit2. the gas doesn't add up either. have they somehow added the new formula?0 -
For me, there is a psychological 20p tipping point, above I get into the 'use as little as possible' mindset. This is just based on historical norms.Changing the subject, I wonder if anyone has joined the tracker tariff since the pricing change, and whether they could share with me the current tariff's product name? For example, a year ago it was SILVER-FLEX-22-11-25 and the summer before that it was SILVER-22-07-22. I have tried pinging the API with various likely suspects, but have not found it. Annoyingly, Tracker has the is_restricted = true flag set in the API, so doesn't show up in the tariffs list. Product names can be checked via Guy Lipman's very useful Smart Meter Reports tool, here: https://energy.guylipman.com/sm/admin?source=octopus0
